Guest Durahansolo
If you are thinking of buying component 6 1/2s for the rear speakers, the Polk MMC 6500s will not fit without modifications.Bought these speakers from Sonicelectronix.com since they were $179. They were $299 in my local audio shop, go figure. At the time i bought them i didnt realize the screw pattern on the speakes and I thought they had the same pattern as my Polk Momo MMC5250's that i have in the doors. So I removed both of the speaker mounts from the front and did some work on them. Its easier if you remove the 4 old speaker mounting clips from the mounts. I attached the black baffle that came with them to the speaker mounts and drilled the holes in it. Afterwards i took the baffle and put it on the back of the speaker, put the screws in the newly drilled holes and put the new mounting clips on the front of the speaker to screw them down and mount them. Mounted the crossover on the back where the stock tweeter used to go with doublesided mounting tape. Then mounted the tweeter on top of the crossover with doublesided 3M mounting tape and back inside of the car.
D-a-n-i-e-l
Not a bad solution for the mount. I cut out the factory tweet and used it for the tweeter mount.
Richard S
If I remember correctly, the 90s had oval rear speakers with a integral tweeter.

Told them about it later but the guy said there was nothing they could do about their wrong system.
Vincent Vega
Wrong system? Was he the dehumidifier expert last week? I hate Best Buy.

"DUDE YOU CAN BLOW YOUR AMP IF YOU TRY TO CRANK THOSE SUBS!!!" He failed to realize i wasn't dumb enough to turn the amp to full gain so i could play the subs at maximum and fry both the amp and the speakers since it was underpowering the subs. So i get into an arguement with the guy in the store while hes telling me about "You are gonna fry your wiring sooner or later." I ran that amp for almost 2 years and it still works perfectly, because i didn't overpower it, and so do those subs. I became leery of Best Buy after they told me about the speakers being the wrong size and I had to drive all the way back there to swap em out. That's why I'm glad I put my own system together so I can't be ripped off by installers. Kinda like the component speakers being sold locally for $299 and they are $120 cheaper online. Guest Durahansolo
Speak of the devil, my dad rerouted the wire today while he was doing engine work from my MAF sensor post. I'll post pics when i get a chance, he went through the firewill with a screw-in metal grommet with a rubber insulation to slide the wire through. He ran it under the carpet up to the back cubby hold, then I ran it around behind the passenger rear cubby to the amp in the trunk.
