Rowdy
Is there any way to tell what year a particular Carter W-1 carburetor was used. I have about 7 or 8 of them, and see afew small differencec between some of them. Thanks Rod
aacalifeer
Look close on the side of the flange, Many times there are numbers there that will help. Some times there is a brass tag on the tops, screwed down with a top housing screw. The brass tag has numbers that could help. I have a Carter book that I could possibly help with those numbers. Let us know what you find.

Rowdy
Thanks guys. I will clean them up and see what they fit. likely they will sell better if I know what year or years they are correct for. More hobby money to restore the delivery sedan with. Rod
Vila
In addition to the info provided by the Carbking, this may also help. The following link will take you to the original carter data sheets for Chevrolet cars from 1927 to 1946. I have a paper copy that I got back in the 1970s, but this is the same pages. Carter carburetor spec sheets for old Chevys I used this several times a while back and as I recall there is one page that is not marked correctly, so look at what the page titles say when you open them. In addition to the different style parts used for various year carbs, there are also code numbers identifed on the sheets that are usually found stamped into the bottom flange surface that mounts against the manifold or on the outer edge of the upper body casting surface where the air horn attaches.Good Luck.Bob BeersAACA, VCCA, VTR, TRA, and CPTC Edited October 7, 2009 by Vila (see edit history)
