The price of fuel, the price of insurance, the amount of space in the driveway, and a possible move have prompted me to part ways with a few old friends.

Item one is a 1968 Dodge Adventurer. In regards to condition it would be like finding one on a used car lot in 1976. The paint is faded, the seat has a few splits but the old truck is a regular driver, is rust free, has a very straight body, good chrome and glass with a 318 c.i.d. V8, auto, power steering. Original am radio works, dealer installed fog lamps work, etc. I also have a shed full of parts, new as well as used for the truck. Photos of the truck are on my blog - www.route66chronicles.blogspot.com $3,000

Item two is a 1973 Olds 88 sedan. This is truly an old friend of the family and it shows. We have had the car fourteen years after purchasing from the original owner. At that time it had just over 49,000 original miles and today has 89,000 orignal miles. As you can tell the car is driven little. The body is straight but does have slight rust out around the back window and along the driver side roof rail, the car was from the coast when we brought it to Arizona. The chrome is excellent. The best description of the paint and interior is junk yard camo, you can hide it in any junk yard. Surprisingly the old car runs rather well - no smoke or lifter rattle, the trans shifts and the ac still blows cold. In spite of this it might be best to consider it a parts car. The primary mechanical issue is the brake booster leaks. $500

Item number three is also an old friend of the family. This 1988 Ford LTD Country Squire Crown Victoria s/w is a daily driver (about 80 miles a week and then a vacation to New Mexico every year) with an odometer showing 400 miles short of 100,000 orignal miles. The old car runs excellent but does have numerous oil leaks, none overly serious. We are the second owners. The interior is in very good condition though it is faded and the dash has cracked from the Arizona sun. The car is rust free and arrow straight with excellent chrome and glass. The paint is bleached badly with a peeled clear coat. The major problems with the car are the rear power windows are stuck (they have not been used in the ten years we have owned the car), the tailgate window is slow (the seal is puckered from the sun and is pressing on the glass), and the ac is inoperative. $1200

We have a couple vehicles in mind that would allow us to replace these vehicles with one so we are open to trades but as we are downsizing the fleet would prefer to sell outright. Offers will also be considered.
