Guest Strange
Does anyone happen to know the overall dimensions of a 1937 packard 1502 limo? I know the wheelbase, but what is the overall lenght, the height and the width of one of these? Thanks in advance for any information anyone can offer. Guest imported_Speedster
The overall length of my 1502 Limo (bumper-guard to bumper-guard) is 19' 6" (if the trunk-rack is down add another foot to that) and the height is about 6' 2", from ground to highest part of top. The width at the rear fenders is about 6' 3". (Those measurements are all eye-ballin' to the nearest inch.)
Guest Strange
Thank you. I looked everywhere for those statistics, but no one seemed to provide them.
Owen_Dyneto
The dimensions for each body type and chassis are given in at least two places, the Salesman's Data Book, and the Specifications provided in the 1st issue Service Letter for each year. Are either of those online anywhere? I'll go check the packard org website again, but I didn't see them the first time.
Owen_Dyneto
I'm not aware of their availability on-line. I've got them from quite a few years bracketing your interest, but not that year. Salesman's Data Books are not commonly found and I don't know if they are reproduced or not, but the Service Letters for most years are. I believe PAC sells reprints, as does Kanters, of many years. I was trying to avoid buying anything and I was looking for a quick verification that it would fit in a 20 foot shipping container. Which from the sounds of it, it will just barely fit inside of. Guest imported_Speedster
Yes, if 20' is the inside space available in the container, it Will with no problem but If that's the outside length it's gonna be close, not sure how thick the back wall and door of container are??? They could always take a bumper off if need be, but if that's necessary it would be best to just remove the bumper and not the brackets (that go between bumper and frame), since the brackets are needed to protect the fenders. Removing the bumpers would also protect them from scratches if they happen to rub against container ends, if they have good chrome that is. It's looking like it is another case of my pocketbook being a little smaller than the sellers desires, but I'll keep looking. One day I hope to own a 37 packard limo. AS has been the discussion elsewhere it is always difficult to put a price on a barn find, and even more so when it is an incomplete one.Cheers,Christopher
