Jon37
Is there some sort of clearinghouse for the whereabouts of DuPont automobiles, such as a club or separate registry?I met an elderly woman last year who learned to drive on a DuPont that her father won in a card game, during the Depression! The car was last spotted in upstate New York after WWII and I thought it would be fun to see if somehow it had survived to this day, and report back to the lady.Being an old car guy, I'm used to playing detective (in looking for parts), and I could snoop around in the general area (the Adirondacks) where the car was last spotted. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Still, a somewhat easier way of finding out would be to simply find a DuPont Guru and ask him if he knows of any survivors that might have come from the area in mind. I'm sure that the DuPont World is a small world indeed.I'll post this in the Classic and ''General'' areas. I'd appreciate any tips as to where to discover an all-knowing DuPont enthusiast! Dave Mitchell
There are around 31 duPonts that survive today, and about half of them or more are owned by members of the duPont family. Do you know more specifics of the car such as year or body style? I can perhaps help you with some more information. Jon37
Hmmm... thanks, that was a good question, and I'm surprised I didn't ask it (of the lady whose dad owned it). Well....I'll work on it!
