car dies after heating up

help <BR>if any one can help my 89 dies after heating up to around 170 <BR>i just had new wires ,plugs and a cranck senser installed cost 90.$.<BR>when i went to pick the thing up it died on me again. Someone said it may be my coilpack & modulator. any one who can help i would sure appreciate its already mid summer i havent been able to enjoy this car thanks sean! confused.gif" border="0 <LI>null<B>car dies</B>

I've had this problem on two different cars.<BR>1st one it was the IAC on the intake manifold.<BR>2nd and less pleasant, the engine lost oil pressure at the top of the engine. <BR>The oil guage showed good pressure, but with<BR>valve cover off ther was no oil coming out of the push rods.

If it won't idle but starts right up after dying, a stuck/gummed/failed IAC is a good possibility. If it won't restart even with the pedal held down a bit for several minutes then I would look at the ESC/Coilpack.
