Guest c.johnson
I have thought about this myself. The only way I can think of would be to contact the State Division of Motor Vehicles. I guess the only hang up would be knowing in which State the vehicle was located.
My State will research the last time the vehicle was registered, and will let you know who owned it - if they have signed a release or are deceased. This for $5.00.
I haven't done it yet - there are other things more pressing about my '22 Oakland.
cj
Guest
Lou,
There was a lengthly thread on this very subject sometime back. Unfortunately, I can't remember how far back you need to go.
Maybe the person who posed the similar question will come on and tell you more about what he/she learned.
Patt
ronbarn
The state DMV is about the only place to go, but you will have to deal with each state on there own rules. Just hope you don't have to search in Alabama since all records prior to 1964 have been destroyed.
