Recommended Posts

My headlights flickered a couple of times then went out. ALL other lights work fine. Where should I start looking????

I found the problem. I pulled the headlight switch out and the wiring harness was fried. That is what the smell was I notice the other day. ( On a posting the other day ) Thanks

I have also seen several times on the '88-89s where the wires will burn behind the headlight switch. I am not sure what causes this but I do have several parts and can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com

I think it would be good bulletin board protocol to post this information in the original post also so that when others, new to the board, read that thread they might find the thread more helpful.

do the motors that turn on the headlights draw power the whole time that the headlights are up?? perhaps the old motors draw a bit more current as they age and this is what hurts the wiring? i don't know much about the circuit myself. just a guess.
