Guest Geoff Meador
All,
After work this evening, I will be diving into the console of my 1988 to swap in a new power window switch module.
How do I disassemble the infernal thing, and are there any "tricky bits" involved in getting to the window switch?
Thanks in advance,
Geoff Meador
Guest
Geoff, Go to www.reatta.net. click on faq. Click on console. Move slowly on this one. There are very delicate plastic parts that disintegrate easily. Best Wish's.
Rawja
After removing the gear indicator as indicated on the FAQ section of reatta.net there are screws holding the console top down under the ashtray lid and the gear indicator. The window switch is held in by screws fron underneath but there should be enough slack in the harness to rotate the console top just enough to get in there... Let me second wanefs on this one, if you encounter any signifigant resistance, look for the binding point before you put any muscle into it.
