vwnut
I've been playing with vws for years and that could very well be a oval window radio, the nobs on it are simalar to that of A vw nob.Try posting it on A form on the samba,it's stricly A vw site. BHWINCVAP
Hello Car Pics, I did actually find a picture of another one of these on the internet that still had it's original box.. The box said all Cars with Motorola radios after 1945.. Now to the task of figuring out who used Motorola radios after 1945.. I hate trying to track Motorola radios as most cars used them as a cheaper option to the house brand..I will go search VW and see if I can find anything there.Thank's! drwatson
Old auto radio controls are the coolest. I think this radio head was meant to be a "universal" fit. It mated to a Motorola box usually mounted to the firewall. Post war radio dash openings were far from "standard", so mounting controls under the dash was a no-brainer. Motorola did offer custon fit radios for most 40's/50's cars, but I think this one is a "fit all". It's too early to be correct for the oval window VW.
