1916 Maxwell Touring

Recommended Posts

I have a picture of what I thought was a 1917 Maxwell Touring that my Grandfather bought in Nov. of 1916, however the grill on the front of the car is rounded like a 1916 Maxwell. Does anybody know if the early '17 Maxwells had the rounded off grill. How about what date the '17 was released to the public for sale? I do know for a fact that he bought the car in Nov. of 1916 for $512 dollars. If I can figure out how to send a picture I will attach it. Thanks

Benefits of AACA Membership.

1916 and 1917 Maxwell's both have the same rounded radiator shell. Don't be fooled by that terribly inaccurate model of your grandfather's car put out by Ertl.

The radiators are similar from 1916 thru 1919, but in 1918 the radiator filler neck was increased in size. In 1920 they went back to a flat front on radiators. Randy Witz
