Dave@Moon
This model is known mainly as the "Triumph Renown". The "Triumph 1800" was a very similar rumble seat equipped roadster built on the same chassis. I believe that since it's the same chassis it used the same data plate. Although the Renown is a 4 door sedan, it is much less common in the U.S and is at least as desirable as the roadster. You might want to retitle your thread to reflect this.
Guest carmagreviews
I believe the Triumph 1800/2000 looks similar to later Renown but have a different chassis I am suprised to find that they sold in the US? in production 1947-1948road test 6th June 1947 Auto Car (GB) although one turned up in the US in 1967 December 1967 Road & Track Page 128 in the classifieds and it was BRG Cheers Julian
Guest oldsmobile1915
This vehicle, believe it or not is actually a 1946 1800 Saloon. I was told the wheelbase is about 2" shorter than the 1947-1948 2000 Renoun (I could be mistaken). I was told by a triumph club in England that have been keeping track of the data plate numbers and their locations, that this vehicle is one of approximately 20 that made it here to the states when new, and the only one known left here in the states. They also informed me that there are around a dozen of these 1800 Saloons left running on "their side of the pond"... so for this particular model, I guess it's kind of rare? Guest oldsmobile1915
Do to lack of interest of others to do something with the car, I did something with the car. I am now building a tree house village which can be seen on facebook under "Tree Creations in Geneseo" ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tree-Creations-in-Geneseo/507249102622153 ) for the latest updates or can also be seen at TreeCreations.org. Since these photos, the scaffolding has been removed. If you are ever in the area, feel free to stop by and check it out! I hope you enjoy! trimacar
Well, not every day that one sees something new, but a car as a treehouse...that's great! Glad you did something with the car....
