Guest
After kicking it around for several years, I drove home my first Reatta yesterday - a 90 white/maroon coup in great shape with 40k miles. The power antenna does not work and is disconnected. I believe the problem is with the gears/track in the unit itself. Should I buy a new one ($127), get a salvage one, or is there another good solution? Also, the leather is in great shape - how can I keep it that way? What type of wax is a good choice? The floor mats are gone - will Riviera mats work if I can find some? I think there is an A/C problem, buy I have a friend that is a GM mechanic and says he can handle that. I didn't realize the car would attract such attention - I may put on a message on a tape recorder when people ask the questions! Most people around here have no idea what the car is and can't believe it is a 90 model! Any help or direction would be most appreciated. Thanks! Guest
Jim,
Welcome to the world of Reatta. When I saw where you lived I had to send a posting to you. My work gets me to your hometown two-three times a year. Hope you enjoy your car. We obviously think it is a great make of car. This forum is a wonderful place to get answers from a bunch of super people. Oh, one business plug-go by yur local Hardee's and get a biscuit or burger. Have fun and enjoy many miles of driving.
Steve
patches@chartertn.net
I also had a problem with the antenna and ended up buying a used one that works perfect from a member. As for floor mats, if you don't find original you might look at the ones on e-bay. Hope you enjoy.
Guest
Hey Jim -
If interested, I have a pair of burgundy '90 Reatta floor mats (I swiped 'em when my last Reatta was totalled in August). Carpet portion is in good shape, Leather & stitched areas I typically touched up with shoe polish ~2x a year. If interested, I can send you a digital pic (no touch-ups there). Asking Cost: $60+shipping (I'm in NH).
~Brenda
Guest
Thanks a bunch for the info and advice. I guess I have to work out a couple of things before I get it the way I want it. I haven't decided to drive it to work and put the miles on it, or just drive it occasionally. I want to keep it working good and looking nice anyway. I got hold of the original owner and she was nice enough to give up the owners manual, maintenance records, etc. that she has. I should receive that in a few days and am looking forward to getting to know this car a little better. Thanks for all your help - if you are ever in central W. Va., stop by and check this one out!
