Gas Pedal How does it go in the car ???

I am replacing my carpeting in my 64 Riviera and need to know how the gas pedal goes in. I am figuring that the ball studs screw through the plate and carpet into the floor.

But, I dont understand how the gas pedal stays in place.

Does it rest the ball studs or do the ball studs actually go inside the gas pedal ?

Does anyone make replacement gas pedals ?

Bill, a little silicone grease and a big rubber hammer will help. Let us know if you find any repro gas pedals, I could use a blue one for my 63.

Just a push fit onto the ball studs that screw into the floorpan, don't think you'll need to use the hammer, but that silicone grease will help, and make it easier to remove too !
