hubcap with script

would like to know what year Lincoln had the gold letter script hubcap on the 15 inch wheel. 1946 thru 1948?

I know my 48 conv coupe has the gold script front hub caps rears were always blank unless it was a special order car with no fender skirts which are very rare.

Late '47 and '48 had the Gold script on the front hub caps. In April of '47, when the late '47 models were introduced, the rear hub caps had script, but the bean counters stepped in and said if you can't see them why not have a plain hub cap and save a few pennys. It is not known for sure how long this lasted, but surely not more tha a few weeks. All Lincolns had fender skirts from 1936 to the mid fifties.

Funny, my 48 came with red painted script on all four wheels, chrome script on the continental spare. Could be someone painted somewhere along the line.

Mine are gold (brass) script which match the ball on the hood ornament.
