michel88
That looks exactly like the air cleaner on my '40 Buick Roadmaster which has the same engine (320 cu in) as your '39 Century. It is the optional oil bath air cleaner and I am sure it is correct for your car.
DBT
Janne...and coming in from the other side [1938] it looks remarkably similar to the one on my '38 Limited [same engine as well]. Short of having the workshop manual this all bodes well for a genuine and correct item. RegardsDavid
Guest 39convertible
its hard to see if this one have the small sheet metall piece in front of it as i´ve seen on other ´39:s.i should ask him for pic´s from other angles.Janne

Guest DaveCorbin
Dear Janne: I vote with Woody. It appears exactly like the heavy duty on on my 1939 Roadmaster. It's optional EAST of the Mississippi River, standard WEST of the river and STANDARD on all export jobs. Mine was originally from Colorado, west of the river. Guest 39convertible
as far as i can tell it´s way to long.i found a pic in my sales broschyr and i shows a shorter one with the oilbath sektion "hangin" under the horizontal square tube with a wing nut, and the horizontal "cylinder" is not there at all.Janne
Guffin
It looks very much like the air cleaner in my 1940 Super with a 263 ci engine. Probably from 1953.
