the following is a quote from an ad on ebay for a 1942 continental.

This car has a 1946 or later grille as the 1942 grille had to be replaced sometime in the past. That shouldn't make much difference to value as the original grill can be refitted if desired as they are available.

i have 2 42's and have not found that the stainless grill is readily available, i also figured out the front nose must be changed too.
