Guest reattasteve
Does anyone know about the 4000 mile 90 convertible on e-bay with no reserve? Not even a bid as of now...sounds to good to be true.
Guest
My guess is.....no pictures!.....no bids!
It amazes me how some people will put high-dollar items (like cars) on ebay and NOT have any pictures. This particular Reatta has an opening bid requirement of $15,000 & they expect somebody to bid that based on a 3-4 line written description. Not me ! Barney Eaton
Although there is no reserve, the bids starts at $15,500. There are probably some tricks the seller can pull....
Lets say you bid the car to $20,000 and the seller (secretly) will not sell for less than $25k. He can pull the car from ebay saying he sold it locally, or to an non-ebay bidder.
padgett
Thought that if the dealer does "pull" an item like that, (s)he still must pay e-Bay the fee for the highest bid. What is the fee on cars anyway ?
Guest
The convertible on eBay now has one bid...from a bidder registered on April 1.
The seller has a feedback of (1).
Sounds like an excellent buy, but I would personally view the car in person before bidding.
Be interesting to see what happens.
Sounds a little too good to be true. Guest
This is one of two cars discussed last year on this Forum. It's either the ragtop offered by a guy named Ty in the Washington, D.C. area who bought it from a country club owner who had never driven it off the grounds...or it's the one owned by the lady lawyer which had a Michigan salvage title but was never destoyed after loan-out return. Anyone interested can find it in Search.
Jerry
Guest
Bet it's the female attorney; she lived in Chicago, as I remember. She probably had the salvage title redone when moving it to another state.
Jerry
Guest
The eBay convertible sold for $17,101 with eight bids.
Researched the salvaged convertible that the lady lawyer owned at: http://www.aaca.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=002844
The VIN #'s don't match, so it isn't that one. Guest
This car was owned by a woman in Illinois. I ran a Carfax on it and it comes back clean. Also ran it through the Buick Dealership and the mileage and service record seems to be right. The person that owns it lives in Indiana and her son is selling it on Ebay. he lives in Mass. The title was transferred with 3300 miles on it in 2001. According to the owners son, she did not like the car, hence it's sale on ebay. that is the story.
Anyways.. I am looking to buy a reatta convertible. 90 or 91, preferrably red, but other colors considered. Am ready to buy now. IF you have one that you are selling, please email me with pictures at greggagnon@charter.net. Price is not as important as get a *real nice* convertible.
Thanks
Greg Gagnon
