Guest elmo39
Keith if your car is a 1935 rumble seat coupe it will be a SF model .there were 900 built and they cost $760. the engine is a 3 3/8'' bore with 4 1/2'' stroke which gave 241.5 cubic inches if you need the tune up data i can give it to you .but my suggestion would be to see if you can get a Motors Auto Repair Manual for that year they give you all the information that you will ever need . they come up sometimes on e bay or you possibly could pick one up at a swap meet,i have one that covers from 1935-49 another for 1954 and am waiting for a 1956 edition that i bought on the internet to arrive

Guest Fr Mike
For openers, have you looked at: Standard Catalogue of Chrysler 1914-2000, 2nd. ed., edited by James T Lenzke? (Iola, Ks. Krause Publications, c. 2000). This book covers Chrysler, DeSoto, Dodge, Eagle, and Plymouth for those years.
Guest elmo39
Keith The information that i gave you comes from the "PLYMOUTH DE SOTO STORY" by Don Butler published by Crestline, this book is now out of print but you could pick up a copy on e bay or one of the specialist book suppliers or even Hemmings. there is a liitle more information on the rumble seat coupe in the book but not a lot , the 1935 SF was the first De Soto to use independent front suspension, although Plymouth and Chrysler used it in 1934 when DeSoto's production was purely Airflow which used a straight axle. jeweller
Thanks guys for all your replies....I will take some pics and post them...This car of mine has all the original parts still attached, except the headlight which is laying inside the car. It also has a sraight 6 and is a standard. The spare tire is mounted below the rumble seat, which still opens up.Thanks again for the info and I will look into this further..Keith
tucky
If yours does not have OVERDRIVE My suggestion is to install one. It will be much quieter and will cruise at 50-55 easier and get a lot better gas mileage I'm not sure however I think any year transmission with overdrive that has a floor shift will swap right out, again I'm not sure.Make sure it is not an earlier free-wheeling transmission. Guest Hinckley
The best place I know for Desoto information is Desotoland. If you can't find it, I don't have the address as I am at work, there is a link at the bottom of my blog, with other clubs. route66chronicles.blogspot.com There is one member, Jon Robinson, who posts often and is quick to answer question. He has driven his 1950 Desoto over 200,000 miles and has a 1936 Chrysler Airstream that is a regular driver including trips from Wisconsin to California!I also would like to see picture.
