I would be interested in buying usable covers

for 21518 type starter relays/solenoids.

Complete switches would also be of interest.

I have 3 of these starter jobs in here with

either missing or damaged covers.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Glenn

If you're talking about the solenoids as fitted to early 30's Owen Dyneto starters, Good Luck! The original covers were die cast and are usually broken. I have a cover here that has 2 AACA Senior Awards as I loaned it out to folks who could not find restoreable covers. Luckily they returned it after the shows undamaged both times. Maybe by now someone has reproduced them?

I may have to look into having them recreated tho' I

would rather not?? LOL

I seem to have a tiger by the tail in my old age specializing in the antique units I rework. Doesnt leave

a lot of time for extra projects. So if there is someone already has repo ones that would be great!!

I appreciate the input,

Glenn

These covers are basically a 2 inch cube with 2 sides missing. Problem is the material is only 1/16" thick and the finished size is critical. Very, very difficult to reproduce accurately enough to fit properly. Best way would be to have it injection molded in aluminum but doubtful you would ever sell enough units to pay off the tooling. If you do manage to figure out a way to make them please put me down for 2.

This cover is just one of the pieces that has become a problem. I will

lay out the other two maybe the Packard folks can share some light on

those subjects?

I have been trying to find the correct rubber spider drive coupler fitting

between the Chrysler Autolite P/S generator and drives the power steering

pump drive coupler early to mid 50's cars.

The other is the red 6V Chrysler generator and starter replacement ID

tags early mid 50's. My customers would love to have new ID tags but I cant find Chrysler ones?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks,

Glenn

I've gotten't these P/S couplers from Atlas Motor Parts(new) in CA. Can't find them in my phone # directory but think they have a website.

On the blank emblem plates, Williams In NH has made various kinds of blank plates for Mopars including srial # and firewall plates for 30s cars. 603-525-3532

Thanks Martin I googled Atlas and got this info from

http://www.imperialclub.com/Part/Vendors/AtlasObsolete.htm

it may be worth a read? It seems that a few folks are

a tad unhappy with them? It seems you had a good business experience with them. Having been in business for over

37 years I know its not possible to make everyone happy.

Too the happy campers often dont say anything but it

still may be worth a read?

Thanks again for the input thats why I mentioned the

non Packard stuff I am looking for.

Cheers,

Glenn

That's sad it seems there is getting fewer of the dependable folks

around. Either retiring, deceased or another unfortunate circumstance takes

them? Most of my work comes from my Hemmings ads. A vast

number of my callers have lost the local person that has done their electrical rebuilding work for years.

Thanks for the update.
