pint4
I bought a trailer load of car parts and with it were these spark plugs. Nothing like anything I have seen before. Can anyone tell me what cars used these plugs? Thanks.Bob
Willys77
Helpful to have Numbers in addition to the AC & Tiger etc. names. Do you have any Champions C 7 plugs available? Thanks, eh! Tom
pint4
Tom,Sorry, I don't have any Champion C7's. Numbers are a problem regarding the above plugs. The green plugs say "Splitdorf" and have the number 227 stamped on them. The Tiger plugs have no number but do the the letters "TX". The AC plugs say "AC" and have no numbers or other identification markings. I have been told the Splitdorf might be from 1909. If so, must have been one of the early cars that used them.Bob
TheMoneyPit
Tiger TX is the aftermarket for the Model T Ford - they used Champion X's from the factory
1937hd45
The Splitdorf plugs look great in a brass era car. They are not super rare, but finding NOS ones is getting tougher. The green ones are the common ones, they had a white, blue and red porcelein equiped series as well.
Argyll
I'm a Volunteer Researcher at a transport museum here in Scotland and was given the task of identifying, cataloguing and packing over 6,000 individual items - 4 of which were green Splitdorfs.Nobody in the museum had ever seen Splitdorf plugs and it wasn't until a Canadian intern we had working with us recognised them - they were whole new make to us, perhaps coming out of the Model "T" we have at some time.I learn something new every day! hddennis
Will any of these Splitdorf plugs be for sale in the future? I'd like to know if they will fit my 1917 Maxwell. Thanks, Howard Dennis
