Bhigdog Posted September 29, 2007 Share Posted September 29, 2007 I'd check to make sure that the linkage is actually moving the shift lever into reverse. It most likely is, which points to a problem in the servo or the reverse band. If it was slipping in reverse and finally got to where it wouldn't move it most likely is a revese band adjustment. If it happened suddenly it could easily be a reverse band strut failure or one of the ears is broken off of the reverse band. If it is a band failure it's a complete tear down type of problem. old-tank Posted September 29, 2007 Share Posted September 29, 2007 All good suggestions so far. Also doing the pressure checks as outlined in the service manual may help isolate the problem.
