Copper gasket for Stutz drain plug

Recommended Posts

I am in need of a source for a new copper compression gasket for the oil pan drain plug on my 1925 Stutz Sppedway Six. The gasket has an ID of approx. 2 1/2".

Thanks,

Dan DiThomas

If you get really stuck try, using a section of copper pipe, slit it, hammer it flat, then cut it to shape, on a scroll saw or like.. then heat the copper red hot, and drop it into cold water, this will soften it to help it seal.. I have made head gaskets for one of my motorcycles this way, and they have not blown, which the originals did, and i can resuse them by re-heating them, and cooling them again..
