63Olds98
Anyone know any good Oldsmobile mechanics in the Gettysburg region who might be interested in adjusting the valve lifters on a 396 V8? Car has 70K original miles but clicking noise is becoming louder.
Oldsfan
I'm assuming by your ID that you are working on the motor in a '63 98. First, that car has a 394, not a 396. Second, those valves are not adjustable. If you've got clicking you've got a lifter (or a cam) problem. There is a good Olds mechanic in G-burg - Kerm Shindledecker @ Kerm's Auto Repair. (717) 334-6882. Give him a call and see what he knows about 394s.Paul
