Guest
I have the same problem. Do a search on this forum for actuator. Could also be a vacuum pump/hose problem.

Guest wally888
There are several doors and actuators.
One known as UP/DOWN. You can guess the rest. ( Are your friends saying anything about being stuck up!?)
You can actually see these actuators and/or their arms move as you switch settings. There is a possibility, remote, that you have a Vac. problem.
W/ a Manual you can trace and identify the different hose colors and actuators/doors.
Actuators vary from easy to almost impossible to remove and replace. Worst senerio is seeing actuator move as you change settings but door does not move( air flow does not change). In this case the actuator arm is no longer attatched to the door. padgett
In my experience, the cause has usually been knocking the vaccuum line off when under the hood. Not at home as usual but should be one of the small lines coming off the multi-line adapter behind the accellerator linkage.
Guest
Folks, I experienced the same symptom. The problem was some sort of cooling coil. Apparently, the a/c oil leaked and gathered in the coil. Over time, the coil picked up dirt particles which in time plugged the coil. Good luck. n
