n4spl
I have a 88 coupe and am in the process of replaceing the timing chain. When I opened it up after not running for a few days the chain and area under the cover did not have any fresh oil.
How does the chain get oiled? I do not see any spray holes.
Thanks,
John
Guest
I believe it is essentially a splash system and no direct oiling is sprayed on the chain. Leakage from the cam and balance shaft bearings plus the oil that is churning around inside the engine when it is running and I believe there is drain or two from the valley area.
