Guest wpoll
OK all, here's a good one for ya!! When you all went to insure your TC, what did the insurance agent tell you they valued your car at?? Mine told me $1,200, and I'm paying $900 per year for the policy!!!Which means, that if I get into an accident with the TC, and incur 50% damage ($600), they total the car, paying me $1,200!! Wait, it gets better; they told me the reason for the high rate (my 2002 Toyota Camry is $600 per year), is because Massachusetts Insurance Board sets the rates (regulated state) for convertibles as high-risk autos, (whatever that means)!! So, in order to NOT lose the TC to a fender-bender, which is very possible, I have to get the car appraised by a professional auto appraiser, and insure as a collector's car...o.k. So, I'm really curious to hear what all my fellow TC owners have experienced in the free world (whereas Massachusetts is a socialist state)hahahah TGIF!!!! By the way, check out the pics of the TC, it's getting better!!!

Guest jerryjbennett
What an unattractive front licence plate !Rest of the car is GREAT.
TwinCamFan
Unfortunatly jerryj, they are cracking down on no front plates in Los Angeles county. I live in the next county over, the "OC" Orange County, but I end up driving in LA area and have been warned one time so far. Didn't get a ticket that time but I think they are not giving warnings anymore over it...Wpoll, what no engine pic??? ;-)Alan

car_chick
I have Geico and a 91 Jeep. I was in an accident with it, which "totaled" the vehicle according to the insurance estimate. They said the damage was $3200 I believe and tried to tell me the vehicle was worth $1800. I asked them how they came to that number and they said it is "fair market value". At which point I laughed in the adjuster's face and DARED him to find one for less than $3000 ANYWHERE. I had already done the research and could not find a 90-92 Jeep withi 500 miles for less than $2900 and it had 250,000+ miles on it. So, they paid me my money based on $3000 replacement value. My point is, find out what each insurance company bases their payouts on; Blue book (joke) or Fair Market, and then show them that $3-4000 is a more reasonable replacement value than $1200. Defy them to find a replacement for $1200 in comparable condition. Put it on THEM to show you it is only worth $1200.00.
