  1. Hello, So I know this is somewhat of an old tune as to how bad these leak, but lately I noticed that mine appears to be out of adjustment. the windshield isn't pulling all the way back into the frame. Anyone have advice on how these can be adjusted? I thought I'd ask before trying to pull mine apart this weekend. Any information is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Christopher

  4. I'm sure this has been asked before, but I didn't find it right off in the search. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep the opening front window on a 38 ford sealed when it is closed. I admit the windshield on the car is a repo aluminum one, which may add to the difficulty. Gasket looks perfect, but it still leaks around the top in the rain. Thanks!

  7. I own one and am in the process of restoring it. My paint guy did an excellent job on restoring the original paint but struggled with replacing the split windshield. He finally gave up after going through 4 pieces of glass. The glass is cracked in the corners on the top where the two pieces meet and are joined by the moulding. Chrome strip does not sit properly on the moulding (you can see the moulding bulging out) and chrome surrounding windshield is out of alignment so that wiper on drivers side gets stuck on the chrome. I think the wrong size moulding was used. Any tips from someone who has replaced their split windshield. I am going to take the car to a different body guy. Thanks.

    Identify Windshield

Trying to identify this windshield. My Mom was going to throw in the dumpster but I would not let her do it. Looks like a piece of history. Also looks original and has all the hardware. Some thought it may be 20's era Buick or Dodge. It is about 19 inches high, 39.25 inches across the windshield frame, 38.5 inches from center of mounting studs. Would love to find a home where it could be put to good use.
  11. Hey guys, I'm looking for firewall with cowl and windshield posts for my 1930 sedan. Is it possible that cowl from truck will fit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  12. I am cleaning out a body shop. They are new Solex Duplate PPG curved windshields, 1950's era by my best guess. One example part number is 155T. I would gladly buy a catalog if someone has one laying around, or would be glad to compensate you for your time to look up the information. Any help is appreciated.
  13. Searching for original 1932 Ford Roadster stanchions. Need one passenger side lower stanchion (unlikely to find solo) or a pair. May be interested in original upper stanchions and original windshield frame. Thanks! Chad zaemo@mac.com
  14. From my father's estate the windshield reads: NOS Windshield 51-53 Buick Riviera+Convertible 51-53 Oldsmobile Hard-Top+Convertible #220 "Tinted" My father was a stickler for details, so I assume the information to be correct. ycnchange-shopping@yahoo.com Location: Clarksville, MD Price lowered to $300 or best offer 4/22/12
  15. Hello all, My name is Vince and I live in Philadelphia. Recently I hurt myself pretty badly and am temporarily disabled so with nothing bit time on my hands I volunteered to help a good friend of mine who lives in Sweden. He and his car friends recently acquired a 1956 Buick Roadmaster convertible. Gorgeous car in my opinion and it's actually in pretty good shape. However a tree limb fell onto the hood and smooshed (the correct technical term, I believe) the windshield, windshield frame and all the trim. I've done a fair bit of checking around the web to no avail. Please see the photograph. He will also need a high quality convertible top and I'm assuming the framework for that as well. I tried to track down a place in Washington state that folks swear by but I think they're out of business. So I decided to go to the experts in such things, you guys and girls. Any ideas? Please don't hesitate to contact me at any time and I will promptly respond. If I get an email from anyone I'll gladly pass along my phone number in case you need any further information from me in person. Thanks very much all. Have a nice evening. Vince

    unknown auto glass

I found a set of glass in wall of building being remodeled; how can I find out what it came off of? All pieces flat, scoop bottom top loop windshield I have found on lots of cars at car shows, back 16 1/4x14 3/4 and 4 side windows 17x22 1/2; the windshield measures about 42 " wide. House owned by rural farmer probably "plain jane" car; Model A Club says not a Model A. Are there books with published glass charts from old cars? Thanks, Grace in AK gratron at yahoo dot com.

    Windshield for what????

My husband found this windshield in a basement of an adobe house we are remodeling in NM. It is 24 x 42 from the outside edges. The windshield is a split windshield. I am attaching pictures. Can anyone tell me what it is from? And the value? You can find it on my site "Tucumcari". The frame is black. There is one small ding in the glass. Thank you, Roberta and Dale Stackhouse clark.stackhouse@gmail.com
  19. Hi there, After months of restauration and trouble my little black beauty is finally ready to be one of only a handful of '67 Rivs driving around in Europe... ...up to this morning when I saw this: Some a****** hit a gully cover onto my windshield, moulding and wiper arm (with one hit-quite impressive...) and hit my sunroof after that (you know how many Rivs with the sunroof option are out there...:-() He even put a flyer under the arm so that the hit would not be heard and put the gully cover beside my tire. As I said before-I am one of only a few Riviera drivers in complete Europe so there is no chance for me to get spare parts here. Can anyone pleeeeease help me find a replacement windshied-best would be a tinted one as I had before. ('66 ones should also work-right?) I am thankful for every help you can give
