  1. HEY GUYS i have a 1956 Powell pickup tuck that i need to sell. I am already in the middle of working on my Studebaker so this truck will go un touched for a long time. the previous owner did alot of work to if before i got it but it still needs finished. these were built in Compton California for 3 years and only 1200 were made and less then 150 are left ( according to the Powell registry) the frame and body are very strong but it needs the body work finished and paint. the trucks were build on a 41 Plymouth frame and used a 41 Plymouth motor making this truck pretty easy to work on and part
  2. I have been a member for a couple years now but have not done much in the way of posting. I have posted quite a bit on some of the other car forums out there and have created a web page with resources for 1941-1946 Chevrolet trucks (in particular 1/2 tons). If you have a 46's GM truck, you may find it useful. There is nothing commercial about the site. It is just there as a resource to fellow collectors that are restoring their truck. www.46chevytruck.com I look forward to getting my truck in a AACA meet in the future! Happy New Year! Tim

We are asking $13,500 for it, but accepting reasonable offers. Sabine River Ford 1601 Green Ave, Orange, TX 77630 409-883-3581
  4. Hi, I am new to this forum and I hope I can get some help figuring how to restore my 1940 Fargo truck. The engine is not seized (but dunno if it runs yet), has 70 000 miles and the frame is in good condition. Is it worth repairing the engine/transmission/differential or should I swap frame with a chevy S-10 to get a newer engine and transmission in? I also wonder if I can simply use Jeep 4x4 axel +engine, trans and differential. Thanks all

  7. I have a Pacer truck topper that came off my 1940 Plymouth truck. I believe it was made in the early 60's to early 70's (Mfd. by Robert L. Erekson Trust, Billings Mont.). It fits a short bed truck with a box size of aprox 78" long by 48" wide. I had this on my 1940 truck, but no longer use it. This is very solid construction of wood with metal sheathing. It has been garage kept and show no signs of water damage or deterioration. http://cedarrapids.craigslist.org/pts/4616143078.html The Topper is located in Cedar Rapids, IA

  10. Hello! I am hoping to find a 40's or earlier pickup to rent for use as a photo prop only. Nobody will be driving your vehicle. I know there are a lot of posts for renting, but most of them seem to be looking for a driving car. This is for a photo prop only, for only an hour, and you can be there at all times to supervise safe handling of your vehicle. Please let me know if this is something you would be willing to do! Would love a '48 GMC, early Ford, or Chevy. Thank you!

  14. Even though I am only 17, I have always wanted to build a car like the Hudson of the grapes of wrath, or the Olds of the beverly hillbillies, or any other car/truck of the sort. Now that I am getting closer to the age where it is possable, I was wondering If anybody has plans, or tips/tricks, photos, referances, links to websites... ANYTHING, that would help. I want to do it to a car, not as common or stereotypical as the model T or A ford ( great cars though). I was thinking of somthing that would stand out a little. I am not going to do it to a rare and valuble olds, but somthing like a Huds

  16. My father has owned a '36 GMC for as long as I can remember, and it has been sitting in the garage waiting for it's restoration for just as long. I'm trying to spur him to finally get to work on the rig but wanted some advice from the folks here first on the viability of going back to all original as compared to some other option. Here's what I know, sorry for no pics but he's half a country away at present so I cannot take any and he is not computer literate. Body, bed and fenders are fully intact, I believe he also has many trim items like bumpers, grille, door handles, wheel mounts, and so

  18. First, the background: In 1977, my Papa bought a brand new Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe truck. That was the same year I was born, so for as long as I've known my Papa, I've known that baby blue Chevy truck. Whenever I've thought about him I've thought about it, and vice versa. Over the past few years his health has been declining and he's been unable to drive, so about 6 years ago he sold "'Ol Blue". Well, I recently did some research and found the owner. I called him up and told him my sappy story and, while he wasn't looking to sell it, he knew why I wanted it. He was very good to me on the p
