  1. Hello, this is my first time posting. i have a 1937 REO Truck and have had the vehicle with three different folks to restore over the years. The engine, transmission, brakes and mechanics have been restored and have been completed by a machinist. Now the truck is with another guy and I am feeling a bit frustrated with him. He says he cannot give me an estimate of time to complete the project or an estimate on remaining price to complete the project. His disposition is rude and he has a habit of nickle and diming me. He does not make much progress on the restoration and last month he bil
  2. AACA folks: I'm an attorney with a client who has a number of antique and classic cars, and they are looking for guidance on how best to value, sell, and possibly restore to sell, the entire lot. I found your site and thought you'd be the best people to ask about this. The collection includes: 1911 Ford 1911 Overland 1917 Chevrolet 1922 Essex (this may be a 1927 -- it's a convertible) 1922 Lexington 1922 Willys-Knight 1928 Reo Wolverine 1929 Whippit 1936 Chevrolet 1940 Nash We had gotten the collection appraised, but the appraiser appeared to be making an offer for the fleet, not necessarily p
  3. Hi. These parts were mixed in with a "lot" of parts I received that were Reo and Packard Parts. I'm trying to figure out what they are. Any help would be appreciated.

  5. Hi. Was wondering if I could have help identifying these Rear Tire Mounts. I was told one of them is from a 1930s Reo and the other off of a Packard? Thanks for your help.

  7. Hello all, I am looking for some help in a repair to the water pump for my Volunteer Fire Dept's 1929 REO Fire Truck. I am working on the truck engine water pump. I have a bearing for the upper end, but am in need of some info for the 2 shaft seals for the bearing at the top. They appear to be the same outer size diameter, but the inner seal diameter is where I need some help. Can anyone help with a part number or seal inner diameter for both top seals. I had the local bearing/seal shop mic the shaft and they still could not fine a seal that will fit. My next question is for help on th

  11. I am new here. But have a 1916/1917 Reo Roadster that my great-grandfather purchased new. She has never "not run" but at the moment is apart and it turns out the rear axle has major issues. Minimally need the 1. 12 tooth pinion gear 2. right axle tube assembly with backing plate Preferable would be the complete rear axle with pinion. Any information or recommendations welcome. I will follow up contacts - then have the mechanic working on the car for me discuss specifics. Joanne islesannie@yahoo.com please put 17 Reo in the subject if you contact me
  12. Hi, I shouldn't have bought this photo because I'm going to spend days trying to find out about the truck and the town! I am absolutely cluless as to the manufacturer of the tractor. Could it be an automobile cut down to pull the trailer (most likely a former horse drawn unit). Altering cars for use as fire apparatus was immensly popular during this era. Besides the tractor can anyone identify the town? There must be someone on these Forums who lived in one of those houses. The style of the buildings is certainly what was built throughout the Midwest along with West Virginia, Pennsylvania and
  13. I have quite a few of these photos of Howe Fire Apparatus on various chassis. Unfortunately only a couple of the pictures were identified. I have found information for others on Fire Company web sites. This photo is one of the best. The fire engine is on a Reo chassis and was going to Yardley, Pennsylvania. I really like the "Philadelphia Office - Howe Fire Apparatus" sign. Checkout the Mobiloils sign and the Protex Signal (with a red Stop lens) over the doorway. Theories, guesses, and even facts are welcome. Steve
