  1. Well it seems this brake problem happens to all of us. Car was running and braking just fine, no amber or red lights on the Teves system, and suddenly no braking pressure at all and its throwing both warning lights. I'm crossing my fingers and praying the pump and accumulator are ok. One of the three relays (I have no idea which is which) still engages but has pretty high resistance across the contacts. I'd like to just change out all three relays on the Teves system but am having problems finding a cross reference. Any assistance would be great! Here are the designations for the relays that were in the car. Siemens V23134-K3-X68 12v Hella RB 005 721-01 12v Siemens V23134-E52-X83 12v Thanking you in advance, James
  2. Since I've been delayed a bit on the engine, I'm going back around to another non-functional item: horns. When I first put the battery in, there was power at the horn relay when the horn ring was pressed. The relay itself was bad. I replaced the relay, and now there's not power on the line from the horn ring. The horns will sound when I jumper hot to the small contact on the relay. So the relay & horns are good. Trying to figure out the rest of it. This setup seems to work by providing hot to the relay. Is the wire off the left side of the steering column above the steering box & forward of the firewall - is that for the horn? Is that power out to the horn relay, or power into the horn ring/button? I would like to know what is on both sides of the horn ring/button - to see if the failure is in there. I searched the other horn-related threads on here. This horn relay appears to work with hot on the small contact, not ground as it seems to be on later versions. Thanks!
  3. Hi. I have a deSoto - 46 with a fluiddrive/tiptoe gearbox. My problem is that the gear wont shift from 3 - high. In some point the relay started to make a ticci noise, verry fast. When i removed the wire from the gov´ th on the relay, the noice stoped. I hade also a metalic sound from under the car, when it tryed to shift. Due to my shopmanual, i disconected the wire from the TH on the relay so the freewheeling was of. Then the metalic sound stoped and i could drive like a car with a stick. Then the sound came back annyway. I have also tested the solenoid on the gear and it would not press out the piston when powerd. I pressumed that the reay was to blame and fuond a another oe on e-bay. When i conected that yesterday, well....it also make a ticci sound. But when the engien get up in temp/rpm the sound stopped.? i messured the rpm, it was 600 but i nedd 450 for the car to shift gear, so i turned it down and then the ticci noise was there again.??? Belive me, i was not to happy. But the metalic noice from under the car is gone!! So, is there anyone who can help me with this? M.
