  1. To Whom It May Concern The owners of a rare 1958 Studebaker Champion are looking to sell the vehicle and were wondering if any members here would be interested or know of anybody who may be? The vehicle is an absolute one-of-a-kind and incomparable with any restored vehicle. It has original factory plastic on the seats and has done just 75 miles - it is a brand new vehicle with an intriguing back story of a jilted lover which led to the vehicle being stored for the past 57 years. If anybody is interested in purchasing this vehicle, or might know of somebody, would you please respond to anonymousstudebaker@gmail.com. Thanking you in advance. Kind regards, A. Studebaker PS: Apologies for intrusion to your forum - I realise it is for vehicles older than the one offered.
  2. (Hey, the new Forum! Looks good – thank you!) Well, I mentioned that I liked exterior paint color and interior color information. Allow me to bore you…. Buick records indicate that seven 1988 Reattas left Lansing with order code 14 Black Metallic paint (GM paint code WA8767).

  6. Did you hear about this found ? There is an auction to sell those cars in January. Known as the Baillon collection, this treasure was assembled during the 1950s by Roger Baillon, an entrepreneur who ran a transport company in the French countryside. At the time Baillon was a known as a car enthusiast, he had built a roadster for the Motor Show (Paris) during the 50's. He always dreamed about a museum to expose pre-war automobiles. Unfortunately, in the 1970's he suffered a financial problems and was forced to sell some cars and since that time, the collection stayed in Poitiers (French). source.

  10. Rare and very nice Hudson grille for the 1930's $900 or best offer. ghhatley@hotmail.com
  11. A friend built a highly modified Amphicar from a rusted hull using a lot of fiberglass. So he got me thinking.I had bought this horrible chunk and hid my mistake in back yard. House is up for sale so I was forced into looking at and moving this chunk. I did send title to Illinois to get in my name. A year later they sent me a note stating I was a tax cheat and owed them $3500. Apparently a zero was put in mileage instead of N.A. I called and spoke with surly State employee. "Since it has 0 miles we assumed it was as new" "So we say you lied about purchase price" "pay us and than fight for it back" or "fax over a bill of sale " I mailed bill of sale and a pic of car. They dismissed the charges. So first I will cut out a lot. Install a new frame. Than install engine, trans and all of that stuff. This will allow me to know what I actually have and what I need to get. Plus it will give me a rolling parts wagon. The Great Race is following the Mississippi next year, guess what I am thinking.

  14. I am a first time poster on this website, but thought I would share the incredible "barn find" my father and myself stumbled upon last week. The story begins with the sale of a Ford Mustang Cobra we had owned for quite a few years. The new owner of the car noticed my fathers E body mopar collection in the garage and mentioned that his late father was an avid car collector and his step mother was looking to sell off his collection. He mentioned that most of the cars were from the 40's to 60's and warned us that they had all been sitting since the late 60's when his father lost interest. Intrigued by the story, my dad set up a time to come view the vehicles. Long story short, most of the cars were in total disrepair from being improperly stored. IE a Hudson Hollywood that was rumored to be parked in perfect condition rotted out from being parked on gravel. Not interested in any of these cars, the seller mentioned two other cars that his father was very keen of stored in a garage. One of these vehicles inside the garage just happened to be this black '54 buick skylark convertible. The seller had many interested parties, but one potential buyer had gone so far as to disable the vehicle so no others would want to purchase. After a few hours of tinkering and a cap of gas in the carb she ran. We fired it up for all of 3 seconds and immediately shut it off to avoid any damages. Gotta love 50's cars, it has been parked since 1956 with 26,000 miles and still ran after 56 years of sitting. An undisclosed amount of money was paid for the vehicle and it was immediately transported home under lock and key. The old lady was even so kind as to give us the original title from 1954. Here are the pictures from when we got it home. The car will be for sale soon, as we only bought it to preserve such a rare car from falling into the wrong hands.

I did begin to take the car apart; started to remove the trim off the quarter panels.
