With its current owner of 42 years, GEN70 underwent a cosmetic restoration: paint, upholstery and a new top approximately 10 years ago. Driven very little since, GEN70 has been recently re-commissioned and serviced, never having been shown, or seen by the public. Originally sold April 23rd, 1929 to Col. John Kennedy of 5 Radnor Place through The Car Market Limited, GEN70 was delivered as a Sedanca De Ville with coachwork by Thrupp and Maberly Limited. In 1937 GEN70 was purchased by The Southern Motor Company and re-bodied with their attractive 3-position drop-head coupe. GEN70 was then purchased by Mr. Noel Rylands Mellor Esq. on September 27th, 1937, and remained in his ownership until 1948. Full history to present day is fully recored through it’s Registration book, as well as various documentation from the previous owner including: British Military Registration and title as well as it’s Louisiana title and registration when it was exported to the U.S. in 1970. Included in the sale, are the original build sheets from Rolls-Royce and documentation from The Southern Motor Company noting the body swap. We also have a photograph of GEN 70 with its original Thrupp and Maberly coachwork and two photographs of GEN 70 with its Southern Motor Co. coachwork (exact date unknown). All documentation can be emailed if it is of interest, please contact me directly for the files to simplify the process. Asking $125,000.00 USD or near offer. 4. I came across an early front axle and wheels for a woods motor vehicle made in chicago. is there anyone out there that may need this axle/wheels/hubs etc for a project or parts?

  6. I ran across a really nice 1940 Buick Super 4-door sedan in Hanover, MA today - it is an all original car including paint and interior, about 50K original miles. The owner bought it in 1964, and used it for limited pleasure dirving. The paint and chrome need attention, but the body is solid and the original interior is very nice. Black with gray cloth, new blackwall tires. The engine compartment is original and needs detailing, but the motor runs well and everything works except for the Speedometer. It has the factory radio. I took a few photos of the car, which is not advertised anywhere. I live in Virginia, or else I would be sorely tempted. The owner wants $8,000 for the car. I will add photos later this week when I get home. Email me at posti@aol.com for contact information. I'd love to see an AACA member get this car. Bob Stein
