  1. Hi all and thanks in advance for any light you might shed! I have a 1985 Plymouth Gran Fury Salon with only 42,000 miles on it. (!) I'm the second owner. The first was the little old man I bought it from. They used his wife's car for everyday errands. The Gran Fury was their "Sunday Car," and only driven (slowly—he was 75 when it was new!) around town. It had only 24,000 miles on it when I purchased it. It was garage kept till I bought it in 2005. Driveway since. It remains a strictly "around town" car, no hard driving. We bought it to keep at my mother's home to use when my sisters and I visit. Everything is original except the muffler, tires, alternator and shocks. I'd say it's in good but not mint condition. Mechanically she's very sound and reliably runs like a champ. But cosmetically, the clear coat has started to peel and the headliner sags. Still, the level of interest in this car has been truly unbelievable. I'm often approached in parking lots with offers to buy and notes are frequently left under the windshield wiper. I've been told it has much to do with, A.) This being the fleet vehicle of choice for police departments in the 1980's, or, B.) It being fondly remembered as a favorite car by former owners. Recently our needs have changed and we've sadly concluded we now require a different sort of vehicle on hand. However we've grown enormously fond of her and wish to pass her on to someone who will really appreciate and care for this special old girl. So my question is, what is the best way to have her true and fair current value assessed, and where/how would one best make known her availability to the kind of collector we'd like to pass her on to? Thanks again for any and all help!
  2. This car belonged to my Dad, he died and gave the car to my son, who doesn't think the car is cool enough for him. I got the car in 2009 and had it thoroughly inspected and overhauled. He has driven it for only 9 months to local college. 1996 Buick Century 4S Mileage = 28,300 (Dad put 20,000 on it) Well maintained, has some minor dents in roof and left rear panel, exterior paint in good shape. I have copies of all the work done. Car sat for almost 1 year. All new tires (whitewall), brakes, major overhaul in Dec. 2009. Air Conditioner not currently working, never been in a collision. Power everything, drivers side motor works, but is finicky Has a radio and cassette player in working order White exterior, blue cloth interior, in great shape Car is located in Halethorpe, MD 21227 Asking price is $2,000, would be a great car for someone who likes refurbishing cars, this car could be gorgeous with some TLC. email: columbiatwin@gmail.com
  3. Selling a lower mileage gem of a ’90 Reatta Convertible. She’s been a strictly California Car, last owned for 14 years by an 85 year old man who drove her only sporadically for the last 12 years and garaged her the rest of the time. I’ve had her for the last 6 months and have loved it; I’m only selling her because I just moved to a new town and have new work that requires me to transport my massage table, which won’t fit in the car! :-( Before I purchased this Reatta, my mechanic went over her with a very fine-toothed comb and pronounced her a great car in great working order. 4. One owner (father-son) garage-kept sedan with 35,112 original miles. Nearly 100% stock, 5.4L 331 cu. in. V8 (no A/C). Pristine original upholstery beneath plastic seat covers. Excellent two-tone blue paint, body, chrome, dash, glass, and rubber for a vehicle that’s sat for 17 years. Caddy does not currently operate—however ran like a jewel when last driven in 1993. New tires, minor mechanicals, cleaning and detailing will make this valuable automobile a completely operable showpiece. See photos at: http://s1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa427/KYCaddyDaddy/1955%20Caddy%20Series%2062%20sedan/ Garage space urgently needed, but owner desires to sell car to an enthusiast who'll lovingly preserve this piece of family history. Owner will entertain SERIOUS reasonable offers from a person who can remove it ASAP from garage in the Chicago area. Contact kkuhens@gmail.com for additional details. Please provide a telephone number in your email reply.
  5. I ran across a really nice 1940 Buick Super 4-door sedan in Hanover, MA today - it is an all original car including paint and interior, about 50K original miles. The owner bought it in 1964, and used it for limited pleasure dirving. The paint and chrome need attention, but the body is solid and the original interior is very nice. Black with gray cloth, new blackwall tires. The engine compartment is original and needs detailing, but the motor runs well and everything works except for the Speedometer. It has the factory radio. I took a few photos of the car, which is not advertised anywhere. I live in Virginia, or else I would be sorely tempted. The owner wants $8,000 for the car. I will add photos later this week when I get home. Email me at posti@aol.com for contact information. I'd love to see an AACA member get this car. Bob Stein
