  2. I recently bought this car that is in pretty nice shape. The headlights don't work. The park lights do. I've investigated some and know the headlights has a circuit breaker. I know where that is at. How do I know if that device still works? (it is in a terrible place) Note: The battery was hooked up wrong when I got it (negative post was the ground) I staightened that out. Any ideas are welcomed.
  3. I was wondering if anyone has any information on what years and on what cars in the 1930's ford offered turn signals built into the headlight stands? I have these on a 1938 panel van. The glass appears original, but I imagine it was originally on another ford car. Any ideas? I'm looking for information because I am hoping to maybe one day come across NOS lens replacements, so narrowing down exactly what to look for in terms of year and model would be helpful. The lenses on the car have become very cloudy. Here is a photo below where you can see the small lens in the stanchion. Any help is ap
  4. First of many posts here, I hope. Selling estate of my father, an antique auto collector. These nice lights can be yours! Some corrosion. $1500, the pair, plus shipping.
  5. A few years back I bought some halogen lights on old bases... I think they came from Australia but I picked them up at Hershey... the taillights were fine but did draw on the battery when the brakes were applied... the headlights were way too much power draw on my poor 6 volt generator so I took them out the same day I put them in.. I don`t want to change from my 6 volt system I assume LED lights won`t do the same thing.... is anybody getting there made yet on old style bases?... Original bulbs just don`t compete on the road these days.... Thanks
  6. Does any-one know if there is a circuit breaker for the headlights/hi-beam on a 85 Buick Riviera? If so where is it located? If not is there a relay for the headlights/hi-beams? My headlights/hi-beams flash on and off after the headlights and hi/beams have been on after about 10 min. Now if just the headlights are on and Not the hi-beams, the headlights are ok, they won't flash. Please respond if you know what the problem is! joed59
  7. I have a 1990 Buick Reatta and need to adjust the driver side headlight as it shines upward and towards the passenger side. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix that I can do myself?

  10. I picked up these headlights for a future project. The seller was guessing Essex, but searching old Essex car pics, I didn't see anything like them. 9" across & 5" deep, look nickel plated, glass has maxwell in center & monogram on the bottom, lite weight compared to other headlights that I have. Thanks,
  11. So My headlights have been giving me quite a hassle. They wont engage. I understand that the motors may have parts that are worn down IN them but the problem seems that they just arent starting up period...
  12. Hi can any one tell me what size the headlight bowls are on the 1957 Buick Super, I'm here in England and one of the things we have to do is change out the headlights for use on the other side of the road. You cant just swap them over they have to bee UK spec, I just need the size...are they 7" Thanks for your help. Post here or email me below markven@mac.com
  13. I am looking for headlight rims for a 1939 Buick Special 4 Dr Trunk Sedan. Would like to see them in person (Conn Area) or pictures
  14. For as long as I've owned my 89, the headlight motors have been shot. I have to manually raise them, but that's something I'm going to deal with in the future. My main concern with them now is the fact that they have some flexibility once they are locked up - more specifically, they have room to be lifter higher, but fall back to their locking height. They seem to "bounce" when driving, especially bad around 70mph. Is there something I can do as an easy fix?
