  1. Swapped out the Motorola and the car runs fine, but cold starts take longer now since I put in the used Delco. Delco was probably from a Series II 3800 vs a Series I; likely culprit? Tks as always. Otherwise my '88 runs great, 24mpg mixed driving in the two weeks Ive owned her...
  2. An elderly freind in the car lcub has a really nice aluminum-bodied 1926 Cadillac V8 coupe that is in dire need of a distributor. He has had the car for close to ten years, and that is all that is keeping it from running. Does anyone out there have a rebuildable 1926 Cadillac Delco distributor? Or know of a way to substitute something else? He's in his upper eighties now and in poor helath - I'd like to see him get it running before it's too late. I've had no luck walking Hershey the past few years. Bob Stein Norfolk VA 757-270-3689 (cell) posti@aol.com
  3. I've got a 6v Delco 948s generator off a 1938 Buick. Question is, the cutout box has 5 terminals not 4. BATT GEN F GRD. The extra one is marked IGN obviously ignition. What is this for??? When I apply 6v to it and GRD it pulls the contact in. I want to convert to electronic regulation by using BATT GEN F and GRD. This will make the IGN terminal redundant. Is this OK? Is the IGN term part of the old regulator set up and therefore not required if I go electronic??? Pete
  4. Does anybody have any experience with the Delco Lovejoy shocks with ride control? I have them on my '32 Pontiac. I tested them and the adjustment did not make any difference in the force needed to move the arm. I then added some Hydraulic and Jack oil (AW 32) and they now seem to work fine. They go from very free to extremely difficult to move as you move the adjusting lever. My question is: should I just leave well enough alone since they seem to be working? Before I added the oil I was planning to rebuild but now reconsidering since they seem to be working as they should. Any help would be appreciated. Rob

    Shock Oil

Does anybody know the fluid that would be used in Delco Lovejoy shocks used in early 1930's GM cars? I have a '32 Pontiac with them.
