Hey Again All I've got an 89 that I bought over two years ago and back then I removed alot of the interior components to clean and lightly refurbish - including the CRT speedo cluster and all electronics modules. Back then I also replaced capacitors in all the modules, CRT, radio, etcetera as looked necessary. I also cleaned all of the harness contacts as best as I could - mainly the console harnesses which were very nasty dirty. This past weekend I finally had some time to get back and put the components back in the Reatta and hook everything back up. Unfortunately the CRT only flashes maybe once evertime I turn the ignition key to run, at one point It almost came up fully but I could see the CRT just shut off again and gave the classic horizontal narrowing to a vertical line as the CRT shut off. There was no smoke and no smell so it just appears to be a power issue to the CRT itself. I've worked on many TV's for 20-plus years so I know when a CRT-based set shorts what the effects are. Any ideas? I did a quick search on here for CRT and then for display and nothing stuck out to help... Thanks in advance, Dan Gibbs 89 Sapphire Blue
Who's arm do we need to twist to get an aftermarket CRT touch screen made for our Reattas? You know, do the same things plus a little extra! Seems a lot of people thought the CRT was a Punch Screen and not a "TOUCH" Screens. To upgrade, New CRT's could include GPS or OnStar Options also. And CD/DVD Player to replace the old cass/player. As long as they fill the stock Dash Holes right. I'm sure a Nice LCD Touch Screen you can Read with some color to Boot! I'd Buy One!
