My grandfather was an avid collector of antiques and automobile memorabilia. He died several years ago, and I recently discovered three big boxes of hood ornaments in my parents basement. I went through them the other night and pulled out 5 or 6 of the more interesting ones. He made wooden bases for some of the ones in the best shape. I recognize most of them, but one is a complete mystery to me. It is a huge, heavy metal eagle (osprey? hawk?) that he has labeled "1919 Coey Flyer". I can find next to nothing online about the Coey automobile company or the cars they produced. I don't see any referenced past 1917 at all. Can anyone tell me what I've got here? It seems to be in very good shape if it is indeed almost 100 years old, and it looks awesome, but I'd love to know more about it. I have attached a few pictures (sorry, I don't know why they are upside down). Thanks, Ross
