  1. Im looking for a new "points arm" for a 57 clock. Mine has been broke off by a previous owner. So it does not have to have work. Thank you!
  2. Hello, Does anyone know how to remove the time-setting knob on a 57 Special Clock? I have the clock out of the car and trying to get it apart, (clock isn't ticking). I've heard people say you pull the stem out, hold it with pliers, and then twist the knob counter-clockwise fast. Whenever I do that though the clock hands just move. I've also heard that you just pry the knob off, it's not screwed on. But I am not having much luck with that either. Thank you for your help!

  5. I have purchased a very old electric car clock. It is for certain, the oldest electric clock I have seen, but I am no expert. I am hoping to learn more about it like where it was used, when did it go into production and what were the competing electric clocks at the time. What I know is that it was manufactured by the Keith-Landis Electric Company (Chicago, IL) sometime around 1920. It has an Ansonia (Brooklyn, NY) movement and is of the electro-mechanical type. i.e. it has a rather large solenoid that gives the clock a wind about every 45 seconds. It runs on 6V DC.   6. I got the Buick home from storage in town. Put in the NOS headlight switch, got the rebuilt radio and clock in, they work good, as does the speedometer I had rebuilt last fall. GOt it back in before putting it in storage. Nice to have everything working. BUT the power steering pump was sorta noisy, was low on fluid, so hope that takes care of that. Now if it will just warm up for some crusin'. What happened to 'global warming'? Bypassed Nebraska.
  7. I think I may have figured out my clock problem on my '49 roadmaster.. While looking under my dashboard and gazing at all of my connections, I noticed that on the back of my clock there is a little "stud" sticking out, and under it written GRN. I'm assuming this is the ground location. If it is, then I am missing a wire and a ground connection. What could I use to ground this clock, and where do I ground it to? I am pretty sure I have a New Haven clock in my vehicle.. Any help is appreciated! I don't see any info on the ground location in my manual. Jerry 1949 Roadmaster
  8. Anyone out there know how to get a 1949 clock and Sonamatic Am Radio in working order? I noticed on the back of my clock that a prior owner has removed the wire from it's port. Not sure why. I located a lone wire and assumed it was for the clock so I plugged it in.. clock still doesn't work. Fuses are all good on the fuse panel- I replaced them. The light for the clock is working.. all my dash lights work. As far as the radio goes, the only thing I can think of is perhaps there is a bad tube or tubes since it doesn't even turn on.. I would be happy if I can get the clock and radio to work.
  9. I would like to ask for a referral to a clock repair shop. I have a Jaeger 8-day spring wound clock that I would like to have overhauled. It runs but doesn't keep accurate time. It is in very decent condition. I want to put it back in the dashboard.   11. Got a replacement clock on my '63 which is still running a bit erratically. My mechanic suggested it's probably been sitting for a while and just needs to get used to running. A friend suggested shooting a bit of compressed air into the gap where the stem (to set the time) pokes out of the front of the clock. Most of the products I've seen--eg to clean computer keyboard--have some sort of chemical agent in addition to the air. Thoughts? Is this worth pursuing?
  12. I thought I had posted this before but couldn't find it. Any ideas on how to remove the glass on a 1953 Clock? It's binded by the time setter shaft/mechanism. Or do I just need to take the whole clock apart?
