  1. I am trying to hook up my choke stove pipe and i am having some issues finding the correct hardware. I am looking for a 3/16 flare nut with 1/2 20 female threads. Every 3/16 flare nut i can find is 3/8 24 thread. I bought a kit from old buick parts in hope it had the correct nut and it does not. Also bought a universal kit from dorman and no luck. Am i overlooking something here?? I have the 3/16 line coming the manifold all done and ready but i cant figure a way to attach it to the carb. Its a 52 buick 263 straight eight with a Carter WCD carb.

  4. Having some issues with our original carb and rebuilding it does not help as the choke is broken as well as a few other issues. Love to find an NOS, Rebuilt, or a carb in better condition than ours! Send me a PM through the forum if you have one....Thanks! Let me know the condition, price and shipping (to Boise, ID) and any other info you have on it. Thanks and take care! (ours has the 719 on it but the 720 was also used on these or so I'm told)

  6. Hello, This is my first post. I have a friend who owns a really beautiful 1953 Chrysler New Yorker, it's restored but stopped for some years, and now we are refreshing it. I'm from the Canary Islands, from Spain, it's a little far from this Chrysler home but thanks to internet now this is not a problem. The issue that we're having we think it comes from the carburetor. It's a Carter WCD 935S. First the car failed to start when cold, and then it needed a long time warm-up procces before accelerating or run with it, because it stoped. I've checked the choke and now it runs cold good, with a exemplary iddle run, disconecting when warmed up, but when accelerating it hesitates a bit, and the exhaust expulses black smoke, so I think is too much gas. Do anyone have a spec sheet or a diagramm in order to know all carburetor components and its function? I've thinked about buying a new gasket set, but the only I found is for a Carter 2039S, it says 1953 Chrysler V8, but I don't know it both carburetor are the same or similars. Or even if there's another place to find a gasket set for the WCD 935S. Here is a pic of the car. We're keeping it as original as posible, according too with owner's whims. Hope you like it! Thanks in advance,

    carter carb bb-1

I have purchased a carter bb-1 carb for 28 dodge six cyl. It is model 517s. I am hoping to identify the application for this carb hoping to be a good fit for this car. Below model # on tag is f6 with an 8, next square has a stamped out backward L,next square has a stamped out v. carb looks to be in rebuilt or nos condition. I have made an adaptor for intake. carb sits lower and back 1 inch to facilitate perpendicular flange bolt and to clear rear of generator. Thanks, ahead of time for any help.
  8. Hello, I have started restoring a 1927 Pontiac Tourer that was originally owned by my great, great Uncle. I have a quick question about the carby on the original 186ci engine. From my research it would have been a Carter DR-0 single barrel updraft from new but must have been swapped with a Tillotson single barrel updraft at some stage. It looks like it will need to be re-built so I was thinking of returning it to an original Carter unit. I tracked one down at THE CARBURETOR SHOP however they are asking US$1200 and it would still need to be re-built (it does include what they call a minor kit) plus postage to Australia. I’m not familiar with old carburettors, their availability or what you would expect to pay. This does seem expensive but I was hoping for your thoughts? Thank you, Ryan
  9. For anybody interested I added two new files to my web site. One identifies Carter carburetors by number and what they fit. The other file identifies which Carter number goes on a particular vehicle. Enjoy. Carter Carburetor Identification Mike's Carburetor Parts
