I have a 1954 Plymouth Belvedere that I have recently started working on. I took the carb off and took it apart to clean and rebuild it because the car was running really rough. When I got it apart I realized the float lever pin in the float was missing. The rebuild kit I bought doesn't have that in it so should I try and find one or just buy a whole new carb? In either case is there any advice on where to get replacement parts. It has the original flatness inline 6. Thanks.
I replaced the original carb with a new Zenith with an acc pump. For some reason it is very difficult to cold start. I have to spray lots of starter fluid. I suspect the motor does not create enough vacuum to properly operate the carb. Can someone recommend a good carb and/or suggest a fix for my current carb? Thx!
I don't usually deal in buick parts, but I got this carbeurator in a box of Pontiac parts I bought as a lot and after looking up the numbers I thought it may be a desirable item. It is numbered 7040246 date 0540 letter code LK body cast # 7040988 throttle plate 7038888. Contact me Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
