  1. Hello, I am helping a lady sell her late husband's 1988 Buick Reatta Coupe. As you will likely already know, 1988 was the first/launch year for these sporty personal luxury coupes. The owner was an electronic engineer and he owned the car from shorty after graduation during the early 1990s. It is unrestored and from inspection this past weekend, appears mostly original. Mileage is just under 140,000 kilometers which equates to 87,000 miles. Car is finished in red with tan leather interior with suede seat bolsters, a 1988-only feature. Buick 3.8-liter engine and FWD. Touchscreen works as it should and displays proper fluid levels, diagnostics (4) all read 'OK' and everything seems to work. The car starts and runs and the many power items are functional. A set of 4 Reatta wheels in boxes can go with the car or separately. Car has the flat-face, 5-spoke factory alloys mounted. Framed Buick Reatta "Car of the Future Today" poster and several Reatta dealer brochures included or separate. Only glitch I have found is the engine cooling fan seems to run fast. Paint finish is pretty good and would buff up nicely. No rust issues noted. Interior is clean driver quality. Stored inside a garage on a trickle charger when not in use. If interested, please call Dave at 519-768-0862 or reply to this message thread. This is a sincere offering and will suit someone looking for a fun and sporty All-Buick coupe that is now a classic. Car located in Ontario outside of Toronto. Car offered 'as is, where at' and 'subject to verification upon inspection.'
  2. Reatta Enthusiast needing to make room for a family. I was gifted my 1990 silver Reatta coupe from my grandfather, and have put considerable time and energy into reconditioning it to its original glory. I love this car, and enjoy the time I have spent working on it. Unfortunately, with a toddler and another on the way, I’m realizing how impractical it is to keep a 2 seater in my garage. I wish I didn’t have to part with my Reatta, but I need to make room (both physically and financially) for a more practical family car. I hope that my Reatta will go to someone who enjoys this unique vehicle as much as I do. (Additional images below) In the year and a half since I’ve owned my Reatta, I have completed the following work. The engine and interior work was sourced out to trusted vendors, while the smaller fixes I took on myself. Full Engine tune up (all new belts, hoses, wear parts) Suspension tightened / tune up Brake system flush Transmission Flush AC Converted to R134 and leaky compressor replaced Replaced headliner Re-stuffed both seats with new padding (kept original leather everywhere) Replaced front and rear paper cone speakers with fabric cone set (matched size and impedance) Replaced headlight lift arms & bushings (Thanks Barney Eaton!) 6. Any one out there ever swaped a 1998 3.8l series 2 supercharger into a 1998 3.8 l reatta?...any info on the subject would be greatly appreciated...if you have info on either engine and compatability would be so helpful...thanks
  7. Any info, diagrams, etc.. Greatly appreciated!!...how do I install a 1998 3.8l series 2 supercharger into a 1998 3.8l buick reatta? Anyone ever performed this swap? Any reatta fans out there know how to go about it? Yeah I am sorry...it was a 88... I am just doing some research for a friend and from what I am getting the computers in a reg engine and a supercharger series 2 need tweaked for a swap to be possible? I am correct with this assumption?...anything else special that would need done?
  8. Over the last month my 1990 Reatta starts fine only 50%? of the time. At other times, NOTHING. Radio comes on instantly (car turned off with radio on) and headlights will come on, but engine doesn't even turn over. No noises whatsoever, no clicking, absolutely noiseless (after mindfully turning off radio). So, I'll turn key off and wait a few minutes. Meanwhile plenty of "juice to operate headlights, interior lights, radio, etc. Sometimes it will then crank right up and be fine, sometimes must wait an try over and over again. So far, it has always started up just fine (eventually) but might have to wait 15 -20 minutes while trying to start car 5-8 times. No rhyme or reason as of yet. It doesn't matter the weather (no severe temp changes), rain or sunny (no humid conditions), doesn't matter how long it's parked (10 minutes into the icehouse or overnight) doesn't matter the time of day (mornings or nights). New Sear's DieHard Gold just installed 3 mos. ago. I've had a second key made and it doesn't matter which key is used...same results. Thanks in advance for sharing any similar experiences.
