  1. Hi i'am currently restoring a 1935 dodge and i was wondering how to remove the rear brake drum for brake repair. There is a key pin as in the picture below and i'am not sure how you can remove it to get the brake drum off. hope you can help
  2. Looking to change the old rotted wood spoked wheels to a set of disc wheels. The wood spoke wheels belong to a 1924 special six. Does anyone have a set of disc wheels they are interested in selling/ trading for other studebaker parts? Also interested in finding a set of rear hubs with brake drums, looking for a brake drum diameter of 15"
  3. We have called every where we can find on the internet and no one has one of these.... do you any of you have any ideas? It doesn't have to be one specifically for a coronet net, it just needs to be 11x2. Thanks! OCH
  4. Hello, I recently acquired a 1930 Franklin 145. I am attempting to get one of the rear brake drums off to work on the brakes and cannot get the drum to budge. The brake pads do not appear to be holding it. I went to the auto supply store to rent a hub puller and it is much too small for the lug bolt pattern. Can anyone assist me with this? Thanks!   5. First, I want to thank everyone for the continued help! I am working on a 1930 Franklin which has a leaking rear brake cylinder. The car was completely restored about 12 years ago. I have obtained a hub puller that is wide enough to fit the wheel lug pattern. I have it on the car and have cranked it down very hard but the hub just is not budging. I have tried hitting the brake drum with a hard rubber mallet but that has no affect. Any thoughts on how I can get this brake drum off? Thanks! Bill
  6. Hi, does anyone know the difference between a 1939 Studebaker President brake drum, and a 1940 Studebaker President brake drum? They have different part numbers, but I was wondering if a 1940 drum could be made to fit a 1939?
  7. I have this differential housing and I don't know what it fits. Anybody recognize it? It has a 12" brake drum and the #6786 embossed on the spring perches. C-19 and 6695 are drawn inside the casting. It is a clamshell type housing.
  8. I have started working on the brakes for my 1930 Plymouth U. This was my great Uncle Albert's honeymoon car and it has not been driven since the 1950's. The front brakes came apart easily and I cleaned the brake cylinder and bearings. The rear brake assembly has me stumped. I removed the grease cup, cotter pin, and nut, but I can't figure out how to get the bearings out. I thought about using a gear puller because the end of the shaft looks like it would accept one, but I'm concerned that this might damage something. Any advice on rear brake work? I need to repair the brake cylinder and lubricate the bearings.
  9. Hi, i have a 1937 plymouth pt50 that I am restoring (having restored) Will a brake drum from the front of a 1938 dodge fit the rear of a 37 plymouth..i don`t want to buy them (at the other end of the country) only to find that they don`t fit. thanks Steve
