Has anyone here had experience with an A/C on a 320 straight-eight? I have seen an after-market A/C installed in at least one Roadmaster before but have never heard how it worked. I would think it would be a heavy load on the motor and might not cool very well while overheating the engine. There is room for it under the hood apparently. I live in Houston and the A/C is much needed.

Hi, I am new to this forum & am looking for some help with the A/C on my 1993 Olds. When I got the vehicle the freon had all leaked out so I am trying to recharge it. I bought a conversion kit to R134a and have been able to get the compressor to run by snipping the wires to the compressor clutch & direct wiring it from the battery so that now it has a full charge. However, when I put it back on its own electrical wiring. the compressor won't kick in and run. I've run down the codes on the ALDL and the only error I got was 23 = MAT/IAT, which I've confirmed is faulty. I was able to

My car's cooling system uses R-12 as the refrigerant. I had an old can of Freon that I'd fill up with, but I just ran out. I've had a hard time finding a replacement. I'm interested in buying enough Refrigerant R-12 to last me a while (Freon or other brand). Contact me if you have any or if you know where I might find some. Thanks, much appreciated ahead of time.

I have a '65 Electra with 22,00 original miles. The A/C compressor is spewing fluid. I would like to keep it original but the local A/C guy believes the A/C valves are also shot and says to upgrade to a more efficient system ( for $900). The only things not original on the car are fuel pump ( I have the old one), tires and battery. Otherwise, the car is probably a 2. I will probably have to sell the car next year and need advice about what to do about the A/c. Thanks for you help.
