  1. How would I know for sure what carburetor was originally installed on my 1966 Charger? A former owner lost the original carb years ago; he installed an Edlebrock 4-bbl. The 361-cid V-8 was available with a 2-bbl only in '66. If I was to seek an original mid- to late '60's 2-bbl carb and intake manifold, how would I verify its authenticity? That said, I don't mind the 4-bbl carb on this car, but it must be stock, like the 4-bbl carb installed on the 383-cid engine option for this car. I'll be heading to the Mopar Nationals this weekend and plan to browse through the vendors and get me a genuine 1960's 4-bbl and air cleaner setup. I need help identifying the parts I want. Getting a right-side rear-view mirror is easy, the engine stuff is a challenge for me. Thanks, folks.
  2. Since I have been getting more involved with following postings online here at AACA, I thought it would be good to show my project progression. Here are some photos. The black & white multiple pictures is back in 1963ish when my dad replaced the original engine with a 286 Chevy small block I am the younger of the two boys. Then a photo of the engine sitting in the frame... My dad and I made the rear supporting crossmember from parts (some from another AACA member). I rebuilt this engine (1948 model 230 cid) while I was in the USAF) Then a photo of my frame just after returning from being powder coated. It looks just awesome! Then a photo of the engine back in the frame. Then another photo of the crossmember my dad and I made but looking at it from underneath. And finally a picture of the inside of the cab sitting on the frame showing transmission fit... I think it will work out alright. Ive got the cab back off the frame. I have a newer bellhousing that I need to modify to fit the correct foot-starter pedal so that it aligns right with the starter. ************************ Now for a Question!!!! ******************** I set the running board on its perches and am wondering about the straps coming from the 'skirt' to the top of the frame. It looks like they should line up with some holes in the top of the frame (they're off a bit)... did these bolt directly to the frame with rubber padding? Any info is greatly appreciated. The last picture should be of the running board on the frame. Thanks, Dennis
  3. 1955 Dodge 1/2T Pickup, C3B. Short/lowside box. $3500, Richland, WA. This pickup originally came with the flathead six, but has been replaced by others with a 318 Poly V8. The truck has not run for about 6-7 years -- just sitting, but should run with simple maintenance/startup procedures. It is a four speed on the floor. The body is in good shape. the only major body damage is the rear driver fender, and those are easy to replace/find (or this could be repaired). Floor is solid with surface rust. There is some rust on the bottom of the passenger door, but not too bad. All glass but passenger door is without cracks or any major delamination. The curved windshield appears in good shape. These lowside boxes are rather rare today (as are Dodge pickups of the 50s). I also have an option for you to buy a 1954 Chrysler 331 Hemi V8, which would be a real nice combo to go with this truck -- the engine turns freely and has the original carb with it which is in good shape. (truck comes with the 318 V8 regardless). Will not sell hemi engine separately. No trades. Price for truck and hemi is $5000.
  4. Hi Guys, What is the exact model denomination of my 1929 Dodge-Brothers two doors sedan. I understand it is a DA series, so it would be the model name SIX, is it right? Regarding the body type, is it Victoria or Brougham? What is the difference between these two bodies? What would be the price when new, for the case with dual sidemounts and wire wheels for this DA model? Pictures below! Thanks, JRA 1928 Chevrolet National, Touring 1929 Dodge-Brothers Six, 2 dr sedan 1929 Chrysler 75, roadster 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook, 4 dr sedan 1954 Willys-Overland Jeep, CJ3B
  5. I am putting a 39 desoto overdrive trans in a 37 dodge coupe. This OD trans has a solenoid ,but does not have a rail lockout switch or a governor(no provision for either). How does this trans sense engagement speed? I have manuals for the non electric B-W OD and the fully electric B-W OD for 1940 and up, but the 39 B-W OD seems to be the cross over year and I can find no info at all. Any help will be appreciated.
  6. I am installing a stock radiator in my '37 pickup. When I fit it in there is a large space between the radiator and the cross member underneath. Anyone know if I am missing a mounting block, My repair manual make no mention. Thanks.
  7. HI there, we (group of mates) have just purchased a 1947 Dodge DD4 60 canadian build truck and are going about restoring it. It is about 90% complete however all in parts. We are having problems finding a manual and are all new to restoring, but have started by breaking it down back to the chassis. Any info or tips would be great.

  18. Hi, my father has a friend who has some old cars in his yard. They've been there for, at least, 20 years, so they are ruined. Either waym we think we could buy one of those and either sell it for a profit or just repair it ourselves. The car in question is a Dodge, whose model or year is unknown to us, I think it should be from the late '60s or early '70s. Take a look at the pictures. Thank you for your help.
  19. I am looking for a good condition Dodge Brothers touring car 1917-1919 fender for the drivers side rear.

  23. I am looking to buy a 1929/30 Chrysler 66 series bonnet emblem and radiator surround. I would be interested to hear from anyone with 66 series parts for sale. I have also stumbled across a seller, in Australia, who has a large amount of wire wheels, split rims, engines and many other parts for late 20's to early 30's Dodge and Chrysler parts. Just get in touch and I will see if they have what you want. Thanks McGoo gamcgoo@gmail.com
  24. Just taken out of garage after long time parked. Ambitious restoration or great parts car. Car is complete all there. Please call Joe at 773-720-6989. $1600 obo.
  25. Purchased my first classic car recently - 1964 Dodge dart 270 - and its in great shape. I had let it sit for a few months and when I took off the cover it was leaning towards the drivers side. A mechanic said the torsion bar broke on the drivers side. I m trying to find a torsion bar at a reasonable price and I am having no luck. It seems like most places dont carry them or only carry hi-performance bars costing 3-4 hundred..I called around to some auto junk yards and u pick it places and that was a dead end.. if anyone has a website/company or can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thank you, Randy
