1964 Buick Wildcat 401 Nailhead. The frame has already been restored, and some sanding work has been done. The interior is original. Runs good, but pings when floored, so it will need a tune up. I can provide pictures. Asking $13,000 OBO. This car will easily be worth $30,000 when the restoration is complete.

once again, I need to call on you for help with my Buick. I bought a new water pump. There is only a single option available for the 401 engine. When I got it home, I checked for fit (I thought) by looking at the bolt holes. Yup, everything lines up, and when I laid it on top of the timing case cover on a workbench, it looked fine. So.......I went ahead and turned in the core. This is not my first rodeo, so I should have known not to turn in the core until the new part was installed. But when I went to install it today, I could see from the top down view, that the pump did not mate correctly

I'm working on a 65 riviera that sat for 10 years. I got it started and the water pump started leaking. No big surprise there. But while I was changing the water pump I got the bright idea to tighten the bolts around the timing cover. they looked wet. One bolt snapped off with hardly any pressure. It looked more corroded than I would have expected. So, I created a lot of extra work for myself taking the timing cover off to extract the broken bolt. Hello fellas, I am new to this forum thing. I have a '65 Riviera & I sent her 401 out to the machine shop for a rebuild. I've owed her for about 20 years & shes been sitting for 13ish years. While the engine is out I was gonna pull the heater core thru the firewall. Thats when I learned it doesnt come out that way unless I cut a 1/4 inch around the opening. My question: if I cut it out will the core now be floating/rattling around in the heater box without the metal that I cut to hold it in???

Hi! Can anyone confirm that the heads (stripped) from 1957-58 364cid, are interchangable with the 1960-64 401-425 HEADS? Got a broken 364 head, and a good 425 head.... :eek:
