  1. (Hey, the new Forum! Looks good – thank you!) Well, I mentioned that I liked exterior paint color and interior color information. Allow me to bore you…. Buick records indicate that seven 1988 Reattas left Lansing with order code 14 Black Metallic paint (GM paint code WA8767).
  2. Hello Everyone, I am completely new to TCs, so all of your advice and perspective is much appreciated. I've been in contact with the owner of a 1989 Chrysler Maserati TC Convertible with about 22,000 miles on it. Here are the specs as provided by the owner: Cabernet and Ginger < 22,000 miles 2.2 L straight 4 Chrysler K engine New battery Condition: Good -- mechanically sound (according to owner)Hard Top: Excellent (SOLD SEPARATELY) Tires: Need replacing Damage: Faded paint on hood, minor scratches, rust pellet on driver's door, faded patch on left side convertible top. Rear window automatic up/down not working but there is a replacement motor not yet installed. He said it was his mother's and she rarely drove it. Unfortunately, it has been living outside since then (perhaps seven years?) He said he has driven it a few times in the last four years. Needs fluids changed etc. and tires replaced but otherwise should be good mechanically. So he says. What should I watch out for? I'm going to take a look tomorrow. Any information that I can arm myself with would be much, much appreciated. His asking price was $2400 to get it all in working order, and $1400 for a "tow away today" sort of deal. Thanks!
  3. Forgive me if i am posting this in the wrong place. i purchased an 89 Riviera from the original owner with the soul purpose of salvaging the remanufactured transmission to install in my 90 Riviera. The touchscreen and instrument cluster were remanufactured as well. I have stripped the car of all i can use but obviously these two items will do me no good. i have the compass module as well that i cannot use. i removed everything yesterday but as you can see by the date, it was in the car and working fine last Monday. if you or anyone you know might be interested, please respond or email me. Thanks

  5. Hello I have a 1989 Buick Reatta, I've been having a battery drain problem ever since I bought it but recently the drain grew so I put a kill switch in it. Now my car is fantastic.... Except for the past 3 days.... I'll be driving and all of a sudden EVERYTHING in my car shuts off, and then a few seconds later turns back on like all of my computers are restarting themselves, this will happen while I'm driving. But my computers don't seem to turn off because my mpg number doesn't reset or my trip number doesn't reset. It happens if I go over a small bump or so ermines I don't even need a bump. Yesterday I was driving on a smoothish road and all of a sudden my car does it again but this time my engine cut off... So I had to put it in park and restart my car. I don't know if it's the kill switch I don't believe it is but if anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it. I do not know where to even start....

    '89 Brakes

So I've had my '89 since April and I've had no trouble with it until two weeks ago when I'm driving through town and the red brake warning light comes on. The brakes work fine for three more lights, but when I get to the next one the pedal is reallhard to push down. I used two feet and the car will still stop just fine. Sounds like "no boost." When I get back to campus I get on here and research. I do the brake test and the first step is check the voltage to the pump. I pop the hood and the pump is vibrating and sounds like it's running at 10% power. I check the voltage and it's got 11.90V. So I go back inside and start looking for a pump motor. They are $600+. So my question is: a) Where do you get your pump motors from at any price substantially less than a re-manufactured unit? What other years/models have the same motor for a possible junkyard unit. (I know the salvage yard unit will not last as long but it's what I can afford.) Looking at other threads Jim Finn may have one but his email seems to change a lot. Any help would be appreciated ya'll. Thanks for your time.
  7. Hello i own a 1989 buick reatta, my car is in great condition except at random times the car alarm will go off and kill the battery if i am not home or at work.... instead of trying to find the problem how do i just disable my car l alarm? This way I dont Have to worry about my battery dieing on me. I just want to know how to disable my alarm system. Thanks!

  10. Can someone please please please help me out, for some reason all of a sudden my interior lights stay on in the car, whether the car is on or off. There isn't a switch for the interior lights is there? And I'm pretty sure it isn't the door switches, I press them and they still stay on, I never get a door open error on the screen. This just all of a sudden happened, I drove to work and when I got there the lights just stayed on, I had to take the accessory fuse out but I want that back in. I have no idea what it could be. If someone could help I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks!
  11. Neighbor has 1989 TC Turbo she wants to sell. Her mother is very ill. Her mother is the one owner that had this TC built for herself. She is asking $8900.00 but requests $7500.00 for quick sale. Call Allen at 760-321-9870 I put new tires on for her and got it ready for sale.
  12. Hi folks, this is my first post and I have a question about pulling the head on my 1969 Maserati TC P motor. I have everything disconnected on the front of the motor, not sure what needs to be done on rear of motor and where to find the fittings that need to be disconnected. I read on another forum - " The intake/exhaust manifolds should stay attached to your head until the whole assembly is on the bench. Just take loose the exhaust at the downpipe (those shoulder bolts will likely break off, easy to find new ones at auto parts or dealership), the oil feed to the turbo (I like to take it from the front of the motor where the oil feed line comes out of the distribution block, careful, dont round it off!)the oil return to the block, the water return to the block (below the power steering pump) fuel lines, vacuum lines (carefull, they are BRITTLE)and various electrical connections. Then take the headbolts out and have a freind help you lift the whole shebang off." If I understand correctly the only thing on the back of the motor seems to be the "the oil return to the block", if so how do I get to it. I bought the car with a broken spark plug and ez-out stuck in it. I'm not sure the head can even be saved thus I'm considering parting the car out. PARTING OUT - The car is really primo, amazing for its age. I will part the car out if I get enough offers for parts. Willing to sell just about anything for very resonable prices, much less then eBay. I live in Albany, NY and would consider delivering up to approx. 400 miles, I'm open to discuss mileage charges. Thanks in advance to everyone for any help provided. Bernie

  16. Im looking to replace my headliner.... It's deteriorating, does anyone know where I can find a nice one?
  17. I recently bought a 1989 Buick reatta and I'm trying to fix all of my error codes and everything that is wrong with it so I can finally enjoy driving, my car seems to stall every once in a while. It mostly happens when I start the car and go from either park to drive or reverse to drive. I have no idea what this is and I know many people on here have knowledge that I don't.
  18. Hello I'm 19 years old and I just bought my first car, a 1989 Buick reatta! I'm trying to fix some things on it and I do not know what I need to replace... The car exterior lights will not shut off. I even take the key out and the lights on the exterior are still on so I have to take out the fuze dealing with the lights. My dad said something about a left switch assembly but I can't find it anywhere on the Internet. What do I need to replace to fix the exterior lights? And the computer keeps popping up talking about electrical problems, I don't know if I need to reset the computer or how to find out what electrical part of the car needs to be replaced.... If anyone can help me I would GREATLY appreciate it! I love this car and can't wait to fix it! Thanks
  19. It is with sadness that I announce that my beautiful Reatta is for sale. I would prefer that it be sold to someone who will really appreaciate it and care for it - which is why I am posting it here first. However, if I don't get any serious replies in the next week or so, I will put it in the local paper and risk that it will land in the hands of 19 year old college student who will not have an apreciation for what s/he has! I am looking to sell this quickly and I will accept all serious offers. You can see pictures and read the full Reatta Data Sheet at: Reatta4Sale Please DO NOT private message me through this site - I do not log on often enough. Instead, please email me at Reatta4sale@verizon.net Thanks! John
  20. Sorry if this has been answered a dozen times before, but I plan on going to a speaker closeout sale today and wanted to make sure I understood the speaker set-up for an 89 since I haven't had the chance to take off the panels and check out what's under the grills for myself.... From what I understand, there at 5.25's up front on the doors, but wanted to make sure I'm understanding the back correct. Are the rear's 6.5 components? And the fronts are 4 ohms while the rears are 7, correct? But can the rears handle 4 in addition to 4's up front? Are there anything I should be aware of when picking out replacements? Or even, does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance, Justin
  21. My 1989 T2 cabernet w/ tan top and interior was my first car and I still love it, but the repairs have become too costly. It isn't in great shape at the moment, but could be with some TLC, or used as a parts car: some rust on lower body panels, clearcoat is a little rough in some areas, rubber bumper trim falling off, engine sometimes starts but not always. Brake master cylinder and power booster recently rebuilt, but now the brake lines are rusted and leaking. Top was professionally replaced about 6 years ago after hail damage and still looks great. Hardtop in good condition; minimal bubbling in windows. Leather generally in good condition, but seats show their age. I have all repair records since I purchased the car (I am the 2nd owner) and original tool kit and crystal key are there. Also included would be several vintage articles/sales material/etc. Please email for pics and make an offer. -Jordan Hackenberg jordan.hackenberg@gmail.com
  22. SOLD! Year: 1989 Make: Buick Model: Reatta Price: $3,000.00 OBO Description: 1989 Buick Reatta that is running and driveable. It has red exterior color with tan interior. It has leather interior and I put tan furry seat covers on the drivers seat and passenger seat to cut down on the wear and tear on the seats. The drivers seat cover is in ripped at the seam and would need to be replaced or you could just use the one from the passenger seat. It has an electric sunroof, but it never has worked...the motor still works for this and it may need another cable for it (A Mazda RX7 cable is the only inter-changable cable that will work on this car)...The passenger window only goes down 1/4th of the way, and needs to be adjusted or may be alittle off track. The AC isn't working and may need charging...not sure, as I haven't had it checked...but it says that refrigerant is low on the led screen. It needs a new trunk latch...but the trunk will stay down, so we never worried with it. The hydraulics that hold the hood up don't work....we always just propped it up with something. I replaced the brakes in 2004....I also replaced the electric antenna....and the trim inside the car from black to wood-grain...wasn't able to do all of it completely, as I couldn't locate all of it at the time. I also have an extra computer module that goes in the trunk for this car....was told that it needed replacing by a dealership and then found out that it actually didn't need this part yet...so I have the extra one that will be included. This car is a very classy looking car and unique, one of a kind car...as there were only so many made. It is in great condition inside and out, but does need some minor TLC to bring it up to mint condition. It currently has 125K miles on it and that is original miles. It has some minor dings on the exterior, but nothing major. It is a great and sporty-looking car. It is an automatic and has the touch-screen dash that does work. I can provide pictures upon request via email. Location (City, State, Country): Bonaire, Georgia USA Contact Information (Name, Email and Phone): Katherine Happle kats3meow@bellsouth.net 478-396-2325
