Hello! I have just recently acquired a 1980 Mercedes-benz 450SL Hardtop Convertible. I have a few questions, but first, about this car: Hardtop/Soft top Convertible Kept in INCREDIBLE condition. Runs great, starts fine, beautiful look and feel, interior and exterior well kept, drives as smooth as can be. NO LEAKS AT ALL. Current Tags/Registration. Original Handbook/Manual AND Chilton Book, Key(with spare), etc... NO ACCIDENTS, TICKETS, OR DAMAGE. NEW tires, shocks, etc... NO rust or anything like that. Excellent condition. Earlier this year it passed SMOG, but just today they said it couldn't pass SMOG because it was running "too rich". They think it is probably just spark plugs, or some minor things(sorry, I don't know much about cars). So, I don't know what to do to fix it. Have you any suggestions? HERE'S THE TRUTH! This is an amazing car, but I can't afford to keep it, I'm 22 years old and need a fuel efficient car. I'm looking for someone who is willing to either trade me a very fuel efficient car for this beautiful vehicle, or willing to buy this car for $4,000. I know this car is worth it, but I also put the $4,000 because I REALLY need to get a fuel-efficient car. I'd be willing to work out for BEST OFFER as well, because the car is amazing, but I need help, I really do. Thank you so much for your time! Any and all inquires, or people willing to help me get this car to pass SMOG/SOLD feel free to email me: firstname.lastname@example.org or call me ANYTIME at 1-760-223-1613 Very much appreciated! Sincerely & respectfully, ~Robert Biehn
Guest posted a topic in Oldsmobile - Buy/SellAll original and in great condition. Runs, drives and has a full tank of fuel. Engine is 260 CI V8. Transmission shifts smooth through all gears. Main color is the original white on bottom with dark blue on top of car and hood. Has the original five hole wheels. I have removed all wheel components, cleaned, sanded wheels, painted with correct light blue metallic for early model Chevrolet. I polished chrome lug nuts, center caps, beauty rings, inserts with 00 steel wool. They all turned out very nice and look brand new. I also painted radiator core support cover, top of core support, air filter base, top. All glass is good and original. Driver side door needs attention. Chrome on bumpers in great condition, no dents and body panels are straight with no obvious repairs or damage. No rust in trunk or floors. Bucket seats. Console with T handle shifter. New headliner, needs seat covers, carpet, dash. AC not working and I think it just needs recharging. Current inspection through April of 2011. No current tag, clear title in hand. This 30 year old Olds will be a super nice car for anyone willing to put the time and effort into this classic ride. I’m asking $3,200.00 OBO. Call Scott @ 210-887-8343. Thanks for looking!
I'm in the process of refurbishing a 1980 MGB, and could use some help. When I acquired the car, there was a piece chrome trim on each tail light/brake light lens, at the point where the lens attaches to the fender. These chrome pieces were broken, so I ordered new lenses (I couldn't find the actual chrome trim pieces in any catalogues). Unfortunately, when the new lenses arrived, they did not come with the Chrome Trim. Does anyone know where I can find replacements for these trim pieces? Thanks in advance for any help. MJH
