  1. My Chrysler cruises fine until about 50 mph then it starts to shake. Alignment and wheel balance have been checked. btw, new Coker radial whitewall tires. I also have a sluggish clutch release. A delay of a few seconds before the clutch fully pops out. Any ideas on these problems? Thanks in advance.
  2. My 50 Chrysler temperature gauge reads hot after a short warm up time and I have had the water temp checked and it is normal(160-170). Could it be the sensor or the gauge itself that is faulty? Your input is appreciated. Thanks.
  3. I took my car 1950 Chrysler Windsor with fluid drive) in for service to fix leaks in the oil pan and pump, plus transmission seal. Never had a problem with the tranny but they tell me now there is no reverse. Any input would be appreciated. I'll pass along advice to the mechanics. Thanks.
  4. Have a 50 Chrysler Windsor that needs new gasket around the windshield. It's a split windshield and has chrome trim. Should I go with Steele rubber or Andy Bernbaum? Any other suggestions? It needs to be replaced because the gasket in there now does not fit properly. I hear it is really important to get the right one. Thanks.
  5. I own one and am in the process of restoring it. My paint guy did an excellent job on restoring the original paint but struggled with replacing the split windshield. He finally gave up after going through 4 pieces of glass. The glass is cracked in the corners on the top where the two pieces meet and are joined by the moulding. Chrome strip does not sit properly on the moulding (you can see the moulding bulging out) and chrome surrounding windshield is out of alignment so that wiper on drivers side gets stuck on the chrome. I think the wrong size moulding was used. Any tips from someone who has replaced their split windshield. I am going to take the car to a different body guy. Thanks.
  6. Hi, I need some recommendations for enclosed transport for my 50 Chrysler Windsor from Portland Oregon to Surprise AZ. Who to consider and who to stay away from. Thanks.
  7. To fix or not to fix? That is the question. I have been told if I fix it my battery will be drained because of it. True or not? I'm spending some big bucks to get the radio restored and would like everything to work but don't want to deal with a dead 6 volt battery all the time. Electrical geniuses out there- please chime in with opinions. Thanks. David
  8. Hi, I just joined the forum and just want fellow 1950 Chrysler Windsor fans know that I'm looking at two vehicles right now to purchase. One looks great on the outside and after its inspection tomorrow I will know about it mechanically. It's interior needs a lot of work. The other has a few rust spots(nothing major), one crease on the back fender above the gas cap and needs to be inspected, but has beautiful interior. It has been garaged for over 30 years. I won't get to see it until late next week. I also know it needs new brakes. It is priced a lot cheaper than the first one I mentioned. So what are the opinions-what's easier and or cheaper to restore-the outside or inside, assuming they are both mechanically sound. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks. David
