Harnesses Unlimited, which makes wiring harnesses, asks that orders include the location of the horn relay on my C38 1948 Chrysler Widsor Sedan. I can't find a picture in my parts manual. Is it the small box (c. 1"x 2 1/2") on the left fender just behind and below the voltage regulator? There is also a small upright cylindrical fixture behind and at the bottom left of the radiator.
There is a guy near me who can't seem to sell his 1948 7 passenger Windsor 6 cylinder. It is not running and is pretty rough, so I think I could get it very reasonably ($500?) as a parts car. My question is: How much compatibility would there be with my 1948 4 door Windsor? Enough to make it worthwhile?
Could anyone tell me how to identify the correct full stainless trim rings for a '48 Windsor sedan? Now and then I see them, but is there a way to identify a Mopar trim ring as opposed to other makes? Often the sellers are not sure what they have. I bought one on eBay that was supposedly a Mopar in the hopes that I could judge by its fit, but it wasn't even a close fit. Part of my problem is that I'm not even sure if my rims are correct. I have 15" rims with the 11" hubcap. What would be the trim ring's outer and inner diameters for that wheel? Also, what kind of attachment would they have? Does anyone have a picture of the back of such a trim ring? Would there be any identifying marks on a Mopar trim ring?
